    Pengaruh Konsentrasi Enzim Selulase dan Lakase dalam Proses Penghilangan Tinta pada Kertas Koran Bekas

    Abstract
    Pemanfaatan enzim dalam proses penghilangan tinta (deinking) kertas daur ulang masih terus dikembangkan, sejak diketahui bahwa penghilangan tinta dengan metode konvensional menggunakan banyak bahan kimia seperti natrium hidroksida, natrium silikat dan hidrogen peroksida yang dapat merusak lingkungan. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan kombinasi dari enzim selulase dan lakase dalam proses penghilangan tinta pada pulp koran bekas dengan variasi konsentrasi enzim masing-masing 0-2%. Lembaran kertas yang dihasilkan dikarakterisasi dengan FT-IR, SEM, XRD, TGA, uji tarik dan uji derajat kecerahan. Hasil analisa SEM menunjukkan permukaan serat telah berubah setelah proses deinking dilakukan, munculnya banyak mikrofibril pada permukaan serat mengindikasikan terjadinya proses delignifikasi. Hasil uji tarik menunjukkan kertas yang paling baik adalah dengan perlakuan selulase 1% dan lakase 1% dengan nilai modulus Young 1493 MPa. Sejalan dengan hasil pada uji tarik, nilai indeks kristalinitas yang paling tinggi juga pada perlakuan selulase 1% dan lakase 1% dengan nilai indeks kristalinitas 78,8%. Kertas yang memiliki tingkat kecerahan paling tinggi adalah dengan perlakuan selulase 1% dan lakase 1% dengan ISO 58,62. Hasil uji termal dengan TGA menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan enzimatis dengan selulase dan lakase dapat meningkatkan stabilitas termal pada pulp koran serta menurunkan laju degradasinya.
     
    The utilization of enzyme in deinking process of recycle paper is still in development phase since it was known that conventional deinking use large amount of chemicals such as sodium hydroxide, sodium silicate and hydrogen peroxide which are environmentally damaging. In the present study, cellulose combined with laccase was used for deinking process of old newspaper pulp, with variation in enzyme concentration ranging from 0-2%. The obtained handsheets was characterized by using FT-IR, SEM, XRD, TGA, tensile and brightness test. From the images of SEM, showed that fiber surface pulp was changed after deinking process and microfibril also appeared on the fiber surface, which indicated the delignification process was occurred. Tensile test showed the best handsheet was pulp treated with cellulose 1% and laccase 1% with 1493 MPa Young’s modulus. As the result on tensile test, the highest cristallinity index also pulp treated with cellulose 1% and laccase 1% with 78,8% cristallinity index. Handsheet with the highest brightness was cellulase 1% and laccase 1% treated with 58,62 %ISO. Thermogravimetry analysis showed that enzymatic treatment with cellulase and laccase could increased the thermal stability on newspaper pulp and decreased the degradation rate.
