    Aplikasi Kulit Jengkol (Pithecollobium jiringa) Sebagai Inhibitor Korosi Besi dan Seng pada Medium Asam Klorida (HCl) dan Natrium Klorida (NaCl)

    Abstract
    Kulit jengkol mengandung tanin yang merupakan salah satu inhibitor yang dapat digunakan untuk melindungi logam dari korosi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan inhibisi tanin dalam bentuk serbuk, ekstrak pekat, dan tanin yang berasal dari kulit jengkol pada plat besi dan seng dalam larutan asam klorida dan natrium klorida. Variabel-variabel yang diamati antara lain metode perendaman, konsentrasi inhibitor dan waktu perendaman. Parameter yang diteliti adalah laju korosi dan efisiensi inhibisi. Pada penelitian ini, laju korosi terendah dan efisiensi inhibisi tertinggi diperoleh pada perendaman besi selama 12 hari di dalam larutan HCl dan penambahan 9 % inhibitor tanin. Pada kondisi ini, laju korosi yang dicapai 0,0189 mg/cm2.h dan efisiensi inhibisi sebesar 89,90 %. Laju korosi terbaik yang dihasilkan dari inhibitor serbuk sebesar 0,0339 mg/cm2.h dengan efisiensi inhibisi sebesar 81,92 %. Laju korosi terbaik yang dihasilkan dari inhibitor ekstrak pekat sebesar 0,0226 mg/cm2.h dengan efisiensi inhibisi sebesar 87,90 %. Analisis karakterisasi dan morfologi dengan menggunakan Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEMEDX) pada permukaan logam menunjukkan bahwa tingkat degradasi logam tertinggi terjadi pada plat besi tanpa inhibitor. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa serbuk, ekstrak pekat dan tanin kulit jengkol memiliki kinerja inhibisi korosi yang baik.
     
    Jengkol peel contains tannin which is one of the inhibitors that can be used to protect metals from corrosion. This study aims to determine the effect of tannin inhibitory ability in the form of powder, concentrated extracts, and tannins derived from jengkol peel on iron and zinc plates in aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid and sodium chloride. Variables observed were immersion method, inhibitor concentration and immersion time. The parameters studied were corrosion rate and inhibition efficiency. In this study, the lowest corrosion rate and highest inhibitory efficiency were obtained by immersion of iron for 12 days in HCl solution and the addition of 9% tannin inhibitors. In this condition, the corrosion rate reached 0.0189 mg / cm2.h and inhibition efficiency was 89.90%. The best corrosion rate produced from the powder inhibitor was 0.0339 mg / cm2.h with an inhibition efficiency of 81.92%. The best corrosion rate produced from concentrated extract inhibitors was 0.0226 mg / cm2.h with inhibition efficiency of 87.90%. Characterization and morphological analysis using Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX) on metal surfaces shows that the highest level of metal degradation occurs on iron plates without inhibitors. The results obtained in this study indicate that the powder, concentrated extracts, and tannins of jengkol peel have good corrosion inhibition performance.
