    Kajian Variasi Suhu pada Proses Produksi Biodiesel secara Katalitik Dengan Menggunakan Static Mixing Reactor

    Abstract
    Biodiesel can be interpreted as a fuel obtained from natural fuels both plants and animals containing triglyceride compounds through chemical reaction with alcohol. This research was conducted with 2 treatments, that is the reaction temperature treatment of 3 treatments (T1:30°C, T2:45°C and T3:60°C) and the treatment of sampling points on the instrument as many as 3 points (R5, R7 and R9). The purpose of this research was to obtain the value of acid numbers, saponification numbers, total glycerol, methyl ester content and viscosity using temperature variations in biodiesel production using static mixing reactor using by reacting palm olein (the main raw material) and methanol with a mole ratio of 1: 6 (mole oil : mole methanol). The catalyst use was KOH 0.5% w/w. There were 9 reactors in static mixing reactor that were used to determine the effect on the produced biodiesel. The Results showed that the highest methyl ester content was 99.85% w/w which obtained at the treatment temperature of 60°C at reactor 9.
     
    Biodiesel dapat diartikan sebagai bahan bakar yang diperoleh dari bahan alami baik tanaman maupun hewan yang mengandung senyawa trigliserida melalui reaksi kimia dengan alkohol. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan 2 perlakuan yaitu perlakuan suhu reaksi sebanyak tiga perlakuan (T1:30°C, T2:45°C dan T3:60°C) dan perlakuan titik pengambilan sampel pada alat sebanyak tiga titik (R5, R7 dan R9). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan nilai bilangan asam, bilangan penyabunan, gliserol total, kadar metil ester dan viskositas dengan variasi suhu dalam produksi biodiesel menggunakan static mixing reactor dengan mereaksikan minyak kelapa sawit (bahan baku utama) dan metanol dengan rasio mol 1:6 (mol minyak : mol metanol). Katalis yang digunakan yaitu KOH dengan jumlah pemakaian 0,5% w/w. Jumlah penggunaan reaktor pengaduk statik yaitu 9 reaktor untuk mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap biodiesel yang dihasilkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kadar metil ester tertinggi yaitu 99,85% w/w yang terjadi pada perlakuan temperatur 60°C dan pada reaktor ke-9.
