dc.description.abstract | Along with the development of composite resins, bulk fill which is a new material, was introduced in recent decades. LED curing light are also increasingly popular and continue to innovate. LED curing light are one of the factors that influence polymerization of bulk fill composite resins. The degree of conversion and microhardness was considered an important physical property and its a key measure of the effectiveness of a composite resin polymerization. This study aims to analyze the effect of the use of second generation and third generation LED curing light on the degree of conversion and micro hardness of composite bulk fill resins. Thirty cylindrical specimens (each n = 5) of Tetric N Ceram Bulk fill, FiltekTM Bulk Fill Posterior Restorative and SDR flow were prepared in metal moulds (5 mm in diameter and 4 mm thick) and cured with second generation LED (SmartLite® Focus®, Densply Sirona) and third generation LED (Bluephase® style, Ivoclar Vivadent) resulting in 6 groups. DC was determined using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and micro hardness with vickers microhardness tester. Data were statistically analysed using one way ANOVA and LSD test, DC and micro hardness were correlated using Pearson’s correlation (α = 0.05). The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference between the degree of conversion and micro hardness between all groups of bulk fill composite resins which were cured by third generation LED curing light and second generation LED curing light. Then there is no significant difference between DC of the three composite bulk fill resins by (second generation LED vs third generation LED curing light). But in the micro hardness test, there was a significant difference in the Filtek TM Bulk Fill Posterior Restorative composite resin. The second generation LED curing light can still be used to curing bulk fill composite resin by adding the duration of irradiation. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Seiring dengan berkembangannya resin komposit yaitu bulk fill yang merupakan material baru, diperkenalkan beberapa dekade terakhir ini. LED light curing unit (LCU) juga semakin popular dan terus berinovasi. LED LCU merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi polimerisasi resin komposit bulk fill. Derajat konversi (DC) dan kekerasan mikro dianggap sebagai sifat fisik penting dan merupakan kunci ukuran keefektifan suatu polimerisasi resin komposit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan LED LCU generasi kedua dan generasi ketiga terhadap derajat konversi dan kekerasan mikro pada resin komposit bulk fill. Tiga puluh spesimen berbentuk silinder ( n = 5) dari Tetric N Ceram Bulk fill, FiltekTM Bulk Fill Posterior Restorative dan SDR Flow dibuat dalam cetakan logam (diameter 5 mm dan tebal 4 mm) yang disinar oleh LED generasi kedua (SmartLite® Focus®, Densply Sirona) dan LED generasi ketiga ( Bluephase® style, Ivoclar Vivadent) menghasilkan 6 grup. DC ditentukan dengan menggunakan Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) dan kekerasan mikro dengan vickers microhardness tester. Data dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji ANOVA dan least significance difference (LSD) satu arah, DC dan kekerasan mikro dikorelasikan menggunakan korelasi Pearson (p = 0,05).
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai derajat konversi dan kekerasan mikro antara semua kelompok resin komposit bulk fill yang disinar oleh LED generasi ketiga dan LED generasi kedua. Kemudian tidak ada perbedaan bermakna antara nilai derajat konversi ketiga resin komposit bulk fill oleh (LED generasi kedua vs LED generasi ketiga). Tetapi pada uji kekerasan mikro menunjukkan ada perbedaan bermakna pada resin komposit FiltekTM Bulk Fill Posterior Restorative. LED generasi kedua masih bisa digunakan untuk curing resin komposit bulk fill dengan cara dengan menambahkan durasi penyinaran. | en_US |
