    Pengaruh Penambahan Styrofoam Bekas Terhadap Karakteristik Sifat Fisik Aspal

    Abstract
    Styrofoam sangat banyak kegunaannya terutama untuk pengaman benda elektronik, karena sifatnya yang ringan, tahan lama dan kuat. Volume Styrofoam sangat besar mencapai 30% dari total sampah di dunia. Sehingga menimbulkan masalah apabila dibuang akan menjadi limbah yang sangat mengganggu dan dapat merusak lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan limbah styrofoam bekas pada aspal terhadap karakteristik aspal pen 60/70. Pembuatan sampel dilakukan dengan melelehkan Styrofoam dengan Xylene kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam aspal yang telah dipanaskan lalu di aduk merata. Lalu di masukan bahan tersebut kedalam wadah sampel lalu di dingin kan dengan ruanga terbuka selama 1 jam. Setelah itu sampel di rendam dengan air selama 3jam. Sampel memenuhi uji persyaratan aspal pada masing-masing sampel meliputi, uji penetrasi, titik lembek, titik nyala, titik bakar, berat jenis, dan daktilitas. Dimana menunjukan bahwa semakin tinggi konsetrasi penambahan styrofoam yang di campur dengan aspal mengakibatkan terjdi perubahan dan semakin meningkat kinerja campuran. Sedangakan pada masa jenis terlihat bahwa penambahan styrofoam mengakibatkan nilai massa jenis akan semakin rendah.
     
    Styrofoam had many purposes, especially for the safety of electronic objects, because it is light, durable and strong. The volume of styrofoam is enormous, reaching 30% of total waste in the world. Therefore, it causes problems if disposed and it will become very inconvenience waste and it can undermine the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of adding former styrofoam waste to asphalt on the characteristics of the 60/70 pen asphalt. The sample was made by melting the Styrofoam with Xylene then putting it in heated asphalt and then stirring it evenly. Next, Styrofoam enters the material into the sample container and then be refrigerated it in outside for 1 hour. After that, the sample is immersed in water for 3 hours. The sample meets the asphalt requirements test for each sample including penetration test, softening point, flash point, burning point, density, and ductility. This shows that the higher the concentration, the addition of styrofoam mixed with asphalt resulted in conversion and increased performance of the mixture. While at density, it appears that the addition of Styrofoam results in a lower density value.
