    Efisiensi Ekstrak Tanin Daun Ketapang (Terminalia Catappa L) Sebagai Inhibitor Organik Terhadap Laju Korosi Pada Logam Besi Dalam Medium Air Laut

    Abstract
    Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh waktu perendaman dan sifat mekanik terhadap laju korosi pada logam besi dengan penambahan ekstrak daun ketapang sebagai inhibitor organik di lingkungan air laut. Dalam penelitian ini ekstrak daun ketapang digunakan sebagai inhibitor alami untuk menghambat laju korosi pada logam besi. Inibitor ini digunakan pada plat logam besi yang direndam dalam media korosif yaitu air laut dengan variasi komposisi inhibitor yang digunakan sebesar 0 ; 10%V; 20%V dan 40%V, dengan waktu perendaman selama 3 dan 6 hari. Karakterisasi yang diuji meliputi pengukuran densitas, laju korosi, efisiensi inhibitor, pengujian kekerasan dengan metode Vickers, dan karakterisasi permukaan sampel menggunakan Optical Microscope (OM). Dari hasil pengukuran, nilai densitas menurun seiring dengan penambahan konsentrasi inhibitor baik pada perendaman 3 hari maupun 6 hari. Nilai kekerasan meningkat dengan bertambahnya komposisi inhibitor. Nilai kekerasan optimum sebesar 165.03 N/m2 dengan waktu perendaman 6 hari pada konsentrasi inhibitor 40% dan nilai kekerasan minimum sebesar 145.603 N/m2 pada perendaman 6 hari dengan tanpa inhibitor. Laju korosi terkecil diperoleh sampel dengan komposisi inhibitor 40% sebesar 2.77 mpy dengan waktu perendaman 3 hari dan sebesar 1.33 mpy dengan waktu perendaman 6 hari. Dan nilai efisiensi inhibitor ekstrak daun ketapang mencapai 47.01% pada komposisi 40% dalam lingkungan air laut dengan waktu perendaman 6 hari.
     
    The research is about effect of immersion time and mechanical properties on the rate of corrosion of ferrous metals by the addition of ketapang leaf extract as an organic inhibitor in the seawater environment. In this study, ketapang leaf extract was used as a natural inhibitor to inhibit the rate of corrosion of ferrous metals.This inhibitor is used on iron metal plates which are immersed in corrosive media, namely sea water with variations in the composition of the inhibitors used at 0; 10% V; 20% V and 40% V, with immersion time of 3 and 6 days. The characterizations tested included measurement of density, corrosion rate, inhibitor efficiency, hardness testing using the Vickers method, and surface characterization of samples using Optical Microscope (OM). From the measurement results, the density value decreases with the addition of the concentration of the inhibitor both on immersion 3 days and 6 days. The value of hardness increases with increasing composition of the inhibitor. The optimum hardness value is 165.03 N/m2 with immersion time of 6 days at an inhibitor concentration of 40% and a minimum hardness value of 145.603 N/m2 on immersion 6 days with no inhibitor. The smallest corrosion rate was obtained by samples with a composition of 40% inhibitor of 2.77 mpy with immersion time of 3 days and 1.33 mpy with immersion time of 6 days. And the efficiency value of ketapang leaf extract inhibitors reached 47.01 % in the composition of 40% in the seawater environment with immersion time of 6 days.
