A research on the design of a chicken drinking water sterilizer using UV light based on the microcontroller atmega8535 has been carried out. Testing is done after all components are integrated into one, including the overall program that has been made. Testing is done by running the system according to procedures and observing system performance, which starts with setting the sterilization timer at the minimum position and record the results. After that, observe the work processes that are running on the system. Potentiometer timer is set to a minimum. At that time the UV lamp will be active and the pump will not work. After waiting for a while, the UV lamp then goes out and the pump turns on. The pump starts for a few seconds and then turns off again. In this condition UV is not alive because the timer duration at the minimum position is 1 minute then both output components are inactive. After about 1 minute the UV is then alive again for the sterilization process. Some time later the pump is also active and the process continues. Telah dilakukan penelitian rancang bangun alat sterilisasi air minum ternak ayam menggunakan sinar UV berbasis mikrokontroler atmega8535. Pengujian dilakukan setelah semua komponen diintegrasikan menjadi satu termasuk program keseluruhan yang telah dibuat. Pengujian dilakukan dengan menjalankan sistem sesuai prosedur dan mengamati kinerja sistem yaitu dimulai dengan pengaturan timer sterilisasi pada posisi minimum dan catat hasil nya. Setelah itu amati proses kerja yang berjalan pada sistem. Potensiometer timer diatur minimal. Saat itu lampu UV akan aktif dan pompa belum jalan. Setelah ditunggu beberapa saat, lampu UV kemudian padam dan pompa hidup. Pompa hidup selama beberapa detik kemudian mati lagi. Pada kondisi ini UV tidak hidup karena durasi timer pada posisi minimum adalah 1 menit maka kedua komponen output tersebut dalam keadaan non aktif. Setelah kira-kira 1 menit UV kemudian hidup lagi untuk proses sterilisasi. Beberapa lama kemudian pompa juga aktif dan proses tersebut terus berulang.
