Faktor – Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Harga Cabai Merah (Capsicum annuum L.) Di Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Chili is an important horticultural commodity consumed by most people of all social classes. Besides that, it is very prospective and potential in increasing farmers’ life standard. Market demand (consumers) on chili product tends to increase from time to time, along with the average increase in consumption in various countries. Therefore, the price of chili is increasing and fluctuating. The objective of the study was to analyze some factors which influence the price of red chilies in North Sumatera. The data were secondary data in the form of time series, from 2009 until 2014 (in monthly data) and analyzed by using Two Stage Least Square (2SLS) simultaneous equation model with Eviews application. Some factors which influenced the price of red chilies in North Sumatera were the price of small chilies in the level of consumers, the demand in the previous period, the price of red chilies in the level of producers, rainfall, the price of red chilies in the level of consumers in the previous period, income per capita, and the supply of red chilies in North Sumatera in the previous period. The result of the analysis showed that the factors of the price of small chilies in the level of consumers, the demand for red chilies in the previous period, the price of red chilies in the level of producers, and rainfall in North Sumatera had positive and significant influence on the price of red chilies (Capsicum annuum.L) in North Sumatera, while the price of red chilies in the level of consumers in the previous period, income per capita, and the supply of red chilies in North Sumatera in the previous period had negative influence on the price of red chilies in the level of consumers in North Sumatera.

Cabai merupakan komoditas hortikultura penting di Indonesia yang dikonsumsi oleh sebagian besar penduduk tanpa memperhatikan tingkat sosial. Selain itu sangat prospektif dan potensial dalam upaya peningkatan taraf hidup petani. Permintaan pasar (konsumen) terhadap produk cabai cenderung terus meningkat dari waktu ke waktu sejalan dengan meningkatnya rata-rata konsumsi di berbagai negara. Seiring kebutuhan cabai yang terus meningkat, harga cabai pun semakin lama semakin naik dan berfluktuasi. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi harga cabai merah di Sumatera Utara. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder dalam bentuk time series dimulai tahun 2009 sampai tahun 2014 (dalam data perbulan). Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah model persamaan simultan Two Stage Least Square (2SLS) dengan menggunakan aplikasi Eviews. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi harga cabai merah di Sumatera Utara adalah Harga Cabai Rawit Tingkat Konsumen, Permintaan periode sebelumnya, Harga Cabai Merah tingkat Produsen, Curah Hujan, harga Cabai merah tingkat konsumen periode sebelumnya, pendapatan perkapita dan penawaran Cabai merah Sumatera Utara periode sebelumnya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan faktor-faktor Harga Cabai Rawit Tingkat Konsumen, Permintaan Cabai Merah periode sebelumnya, Harga Cabai Merah tingkat Produsen dan Curah Hujan Sumatera Utara berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap harga Cabai Merah (Capsicum annuum.L) di Sumatera Utara. Sedangkan harga Cabai merah tingkat konsumen periode sebelumnya, pendapatan perkapita, penawaran Cabai merah Sumatera Utara periode sebelumnya memberikan pengaruh negatif terhadap harga Cabai merah tingkat konsumen Sumatera Utara.
