Kompetensi Lulusan Teknik Industri USU dalam Rangka Memenuhi Kebutuhan Dunia Kerja pada Era Industri 4.0

Abstract

Pendidikan abad ke-21 ini tidak dapat disamakan dengan model pendidikan pada era sebelumnya. Perubahan yang cukup drastis dan sporadis menuntut aspek pendidikan untuk menjadi bagian penting dalam memberi arah kemajuan bagi kehidupan manusia. Memasuki era revolusi industri 4.0, perguruan tinggi dihadapkan dengan tantangan untuk mempersiapkan lulusan yang berkualitas agar siap terjun kedunia kerja, memiliki skill yang memadai dan melengkapi SDM agar bisa bertahan di era revolusi industri 4.0, sehingga mampu berkontribusi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi dan kesejahteraan bangsa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi teknologi utama dan kompetensi yang dibutuhkan di era industri 4.0 serta menentukan cara meningkatkan kompetensi lulusan Teknik Industri USU agar sesuai dengan perkembangan kebutuhan pasar era industri 4.0. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan studi literatur dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada perusahaan (user) pengguna lulusan Teknik Industri USU. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian historis kualitatif dengan penggunaan Nvivo sebagai tools untuk analisa studi literatur yang digunakan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teknologi utama yang dibutuhkan pada era industri 4.0 yaitu IOT, CPS, Big data, cloud computing, virtual and augmented reality dan artificial intelligence dengan kompetensi berbasis IoT, penguasaan communication skill, literasi teknologi informasi, kepemimpinan, kemampuan berbahasa asing, kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreativitas dan emotional intelligence atau kecerdasan emosi. Beberapa hal yang dapat dilakukan oleh Departemen Teknik Industri USU dalam meningkatkan kompetensi para lulusannya agar sesuai dengan kebutuhan Era Industri 4.0, diantaranya adalah merancang kurikulum literasi industri baru secara spesifik yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan perusahaan industri 4.0 dan mempersiapkan secara matang pada 3 aspek kompetensi yaitu pengetahuan, keahlian dan sikap. Melalui hasil penelitian ini, diharapkan dapat memberi usulan bagi Departemen Teknik Industri USU agar dapat meningkatkan kompetensi lulusan yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pasar pada era industri 4.0

This 21st-century education cannot be equated with the education model of the previous era. Changes that are quite drastic and sporadic require aspects of education to be an important part of providing direction for progress in human life. Entering the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution, universities are faced with the challenge of preparing qualified graduates to be ready to enter the world of work, have adequate skills and complete human resources so that they can survive in the era of revolution 4.0 so that they can contribute to economic growth and the nation's welfare. This study aims to identify the main technologies and competencies needed in the industrial era 4.0 and determine how to improve the competence of USU Industrial Engineering graduates to match the development needs of the industrial era 4.0 market. This research was conducted using a literature study and distributing questionnaires to companies (users) who graduated from USU Industrial Engineering. This research is a historical descriptive study using Nvivo as a tool for analyzing the literature study used. The results of this study indicate that the main technologies needed in the industrial era 4.0 are IoT, CPS, Big data, cloud computing, virtual and augmented reality and artificial intelligence with IoT-based competencies, mastery of communication skills, information technology literacy, leadership, foreign language skills. , critical thinking skills, creativity, and emotional intelligence. Several things can be done by the USU Industrial Engineering Department in improving the competence of its graduates to suit the needs of the Industrial Age 4.0, including designing a new industrial literacy curriculum specifically according to the needs of industrial companies 4.0 and preparing carefully on 3 aspects of competence, namely knowledge, skill, and attitude. Through the results of this research, it is hoped that the USU Industrial Engineering Department will be able to improve the competence of graduates who are tailored to market needs in the industrial 4.0 era.
