    Analisa Bakteri Legionella pada Air Conditioner dan Keluhan Gangguan Pernafasan pada Pegawai Bank X Medan Tahun 2016

    Abstract
    Legionellosis is an acute bacterial infection of the lower respiratory tract caused by Legionella pneumophila. This bacteria can dangerously lead to death by 15-20%. One of disease that can be found in the Air Conditioner is legionellosis, and it is caused by Legionella sp bacteria. This researches was to analyze the presence of legionella bacteria in Air Conditioner and complaints of respiratory problems by employees of Bank X Medan in 2016. In addition, to determine the characteristics of Bank X’s employees including age, education, length of employment, smoking behavior, and complaints of respiratory disorders. To determine the physical conditions of Bank X’s building Medan including temperature, humidity, ventilation, and Air Conditioning maintenance period. The type of this study is descriptive. Data collected primarily using questionnaire and Air Conditioner (AC) laboratory testing. Research location was in KSM (Multipurpose Credit Mandiri) Center Bank Mandiri Ahmad Yani Medan. The variable, who was all of 27 employees taken to be the sample of respiratory problems complaints. Object of this researches was 5 samples of Air Conditioner (AC) in KSM Center Bank Mandiri Ahmad Yani Medan. Laboratory result showed that Legionella was not found in every Air Conditioner (AC) samples at KSM Center Office. It is supported by adequate AC periodic maintenance and Bank X’s policy, who applies that employees shouldn’t smoking in the building. The result of this study showed that the most employees were 24 (29,6%) years old. The most education level was bachelor (81,5%), 24 employees working more than 8 hours/day, and the most respiratory complaint was flu / sneeze was 12 (44,4%) from 27 employees. Suggestions from this study is to mounted Air Conditioner in front of acrylic glass to prevent so much exposure by Air Conditioner indirectly on the heads of the employees, and to retain the periodic cleaning of air conditioning which is 3 months eventhough Legionella was not found in this building.
     
    Legionellosis adalah infeksi bakteri akut pada saluran pernafasan bawah yang disebabkan oleh Legionella pneumophila. Penyakit ini berbahaya dan dapat mengakibatkan kematian 15-20%. Salah satu penyakit yang dapat dijumpai pada Air Conditioner adalah legionellosis yang disebabkan oleh kuman Legionella sp. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa keberadaan bakteri legionella pada Air Conditioner dan keluhan gangguan pernafasan pada pegawai Bank X Medan tahun 2016. Selain itu, untuk mengetahui karakteristik pegawai Bank X meliputi umur, pendidikan, lama kerja, perilaku merokok, serta keluhan gangguan pernafasan. Untuk mengetahui kondisi fisik gedung Bank X Medan meliputi suhu, kelembaban, ventilasi, serta perawatan AC berkala. Jenis penelitian bersifat deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan secara primer menggunakan kuesioner serta pengujian laboratorium pada Air Conditioner (AC). Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di kantor bagian KSM (Kredit Serbaguna Mandiri) Center Bank Mandiri Cabang Ahmad Yani Medan. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 27 pegawai. Objek penelitian adalah 5 sampel Air Conditioner (AC) yang berada pada KSM Center Bank Mandiri Cabang Ahmad Yani Medan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian laboratorium, tidak ditemukannya bakteri Legionella sp pada semua sampel AC yang berada pada ruangan KSM Center. Hal ini didukung oleh perawatan AC berkala dan peraturan Bank X, yang menyatakan bahwa pegawai tidak boleh merokok di dalam gedung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pegawai paling banyak berumur 24 (29,6%) tahun, telah menempuh pendidikan jenjang Strata 1 sebesar 81,5%, 24 pegawai bekerja lebih dari jam per hari, dan pegawai paling banyak mengeluh gangguan pernafasan yaitu pilek / bersin sebesar 12 (44,4%) dari 27 pegawai. Saran dari penelitian ini adalah hendaknya dipasang kaca akrilik di depan AC agar paparan udara yang keluar dari AC tidak langsung mengenai kepala para pegawai. Selain itu tetap mempertahankan pembersihan AC secara berkala yaitu 3 bulan sekali meskipun tidak ditemukannya bakteri Legionella sp pada AC tersebut.
