    Modifikasi Ruang Pembakaran dan Ruang Pengering pada Alat Rotary Dryer Tipe Hybrid untuk Pengeringan Gabah

    Abstract
    Rotary dryer tipe hibrid is a dry drum that rotates continuously and is heated with a combustion stove. Modifications of the hybrid type rotary dryer include cutting the chimney section to reduce heat loss in the furnace and the addition of hot air inlet channels that enter the drying chamber to speed up the temperature distribution in the drying chamber. The use of fuel in the tool after modification was the combustion of coconut shell biomass with a heating value of 27,196kJ /Kg. The material to be dried was 5 Kg of ready to harvest grain with an average moisture content of 26% and reaches the standard of grain moisture content according to BSNI for 120 minutes of dried. The measured relative humidity during measurement was 42% for dried biomass energi and 42% for dried hybrid energy. The drying rate with biomass energi was 4.8% wb/hour and hybrid energi 5.10% wb /hour. The efficiency of drying biomass 20 % and efficiency of hybrid drying 26%. The effective working capacity of the tool was 3.3 Kg / hour.
     
    Alat rotari pengering tipe hibrid merupakan sebuah drum pengering yang berputar secara terus menerus dan dipanaskan dengan tungku pembakaran. Modifikasi alat pengering rotari tipe hibrid meliputi pemotongan bagian cerobong asap guna mengurangi losis panas pada tungku pembakaran dan penambahan saluran inlet udara panas yang masuk ke ruang pengering guna mempercepat perataan sebaran suhu pada ruang pengering. Penggunaan bahan bakar pada alat setelah dimodifikasi adalah biomassa tempurung kelapa dengan nilai kalor 27.196kJ/Kg. Bahan yang dikeringkan adalah 5 Kg gabah siap panen dengan kadar air rata-rata 26% dan mencapai standar kadar air penggilingan gabah sesuai BSNI selama 120 menit pengeringan. Kelembaban nisbi yang terukur selama pengukuran adalah 42% untuk pengeringan energi biomassa dan 41% untuk pengeringan energi hibrid. Laju pengeringan dengan energi biomassa adalah 4,8% bb/jam dan energi hybrid 5,10% bb/jam. Efisiensi pengeringan biomassa 20% dan efisiensi pengeringan hibrid 26%. Kapasitas efektif kerja alat adalah 3,3 Kg/jam.
