    Pembuatan Keramik Konstruksi Berbasis Clay, Debu Vulkanik Gunung Sinabung dan Air Laut

    Abstract
    The process of pabrication of making construction ceramics based on clay, Mount Sinabung volcanic dust and sea water has been successfully carried out using the die pressing method. Clay and volcanic ash from Mount Sinabung was sieved using a 100 mesh sieve. The ceramics are printed with five variations of the compositional clay, volcanic dust of Mount Sinabung and sea water 30:27:3, 30:24:6, 30:21:9, 30:18:12, 30:15:15 grams. Burned at 1000ºC for 3 hours. Ceramics are characterized by physical properties (density, porosity, shrinkage) mechanical properties (compressive strength and hardness). The characterization result show that the composition of clay, volcanic dust of Mount Sinabung and sea wateris mixed with variations of 30:27:3 grams with a shrinkage value 4.76%; porosity 29.965; density 1.92 x 103 kg/m3 and compressive strength 143.20 MPa; hardness 781.43 MPa.
     
    Telah dilakukan proses pembuatan keramik konstruksi berbasis clay, debu vulkanik Gunung Sinabung dan air laut dengan metode die pressing. Clay dan debu vulkanik gunung Gunung Sinabung diayak dengan ayakan 100 mesh. Keramik dicetak dengan lima variasi koposisi clay, dubu vulkanik gunung sinabung dan air laut dalam perbandingan konsentrasi persen 30:27:3; 30:24:6; 30:21:9; 30:18:12; 30:15:15 gr. Dibakar dengan suhu 1000 ºC selama 3 jam. Keramik dikarakterisasi untuk melihat sifat fisis (densitas, porositas, penyusutan) sifat mekanik (kuat tekan dan kekerasan). Karakterisasi menunjukkan bahwa pada komposisi clay, debu vulkanik gunung sinabung dan air laut pada variasi campuran 30:27:3 gram dengan nilai optimum susut bakar 4,76%; porositass 29,96%; densitas 1,92 ×103kg/m3 dan kuat tekan 143,20 MPa; kekerasan 781,43 MPa.
