This study was conducted in July 2018 at the Laboratory of Physiology and Plant Tissue Culture, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan. Biwa (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) Samples were taken at Tongkoh. Characteristics of sweet and sour Biwa plants can be known in the species of the thorny acid tip of the thorny leaves while the pointed sweet biwa, the edge of the leaves in the jagged acidic Biwa plant while the average sweet biwa, repetition in the plant biaceous herbaceous acid while apada sweet carnosous acid, the surface of the biwa acid leaves pilosus while the sweet biwa rotundus morphological similarity based on some morphological characters by 56%. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2018 di Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Kultur Jaringan Tumbuhan Departemen Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan. Pengambilan sampel buah Biwa (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) diambil di lapangan di Tongkoh. Karakteristik tanaman Biwa manis dan asam dapat diketahui pada jenis Biwa asam ujung daun berduri sedangkan biwa manis runcing, tepi daun pada tanaman Biwa asam bergerigi sedangkan pada biwa manis rata, pertulangan pada tanaman Biwa asam herbaceous sedangkan apada biwa manis carnosous, permukaan daun biwa asam pilosus sedangkan biwa manis rotundus kemiripan morfologi berdasarkan beberapa karakter morfologi sebesar 56%.
