The dissertation is entitled “Grammatical Metaphors (GMs) in Doctrinal Verses of the Bible in Indonesian Version: A Content Analysis of Translation Product”. Grammatical metaphor has become an interesting issue nowadays especially in the field of science of technology. Even, the discussion of grammatical metaphor has touched other fields’ texts; politics, economics, and even religion. To reach up the objectives, the writer employed a qualitative research approach with content analysis design. The data of this research were ideational GMs, Interpersonal GMs and grammatical mistakes from the sources of data, 50 biblical doctrinal verses from Alkitab Terjemahan Baru 1974 and New King James Version in 2007 edition selected by inclusion criteria. The theory underlying this research is the systemic functional linguistics (SFL) theory proposed by Halliday. To identify and categorize grammatical metaphors, the Stratal Model analysis by Halliday and Martin (1993) was used, while the obtained data were analyzed applying content analysis with conceptual design proposed by Carley and Dale (2012). The theory underlying grammatical revision was that of Mossop (2014). The reseach findings revealed that 1) 120 ideational GMs were found from the corpus with the following deployments; 69 experiential GMs from 8 types and 51 logical GMs of 3 types, 2) 45 interpersonal GMs of 5 types (mood, modality, mental process, epithet, and euphemism) were found from the data corpus, and 3) The study has the implications for the grammatical revison of 23 doctrinal verses in Indonesian version. In conclusion, GMs in Indonesian language have their own features although most are similar to those stated in Halliday’s theory.en_US
