dc.description.abstractLatar belakang: Kepadatan parasit pada penderita merupakan salah satu faktor agen dan host yang mempengaruhi tingkat keparahan penyakit. Parasit malaria dapat menimbukan gejala klinis antara lain demam yang disertai menggigil, berkeringat, dan dapat disertai sakit kepala, mual, muntah, diare dan nyeri otot atau pegal-pegal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara densitas parasit pada stadium aseksual dengan gejala klinis pada malaria Plasmodium vivax Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain potong lintang. Jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 43 subjek yang diambil secara konsekutif di Kualuh Leidong Kabupaten Labuhan batu Utara pada bulan November - Desember 2020. Variabel penelitian terdiri dari densitas parasit dan gejala klinis malaria vivax. Analisis data menggunakan uji Chi Square, Fischer’s Exact, Mann-Whitney dan Kruskal Wallis tests. Hasil Penelitian: Karakteristik subjek penelitian paling banyak adalah perempuan (60.5%) dengan rentang usia 11 - 18 tahun (74.4%), dan suku Batak (58.1%), Rerata berat badan 37.86±14.2 kg, suhu 39.25°C±1,08°C, hemoglobin 10.69±1.49 g/dl dan Rerata parasit aseksual adalah 200 (80-2000) parasit. Seluruh subyek mengeluhkan demam(100%). Gejala mual (72%), muntah (79.06%), menggigil (27%), nyeri kepala (58%) dan nyeri perut (30%). Tidak ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara densitas parasit aseksual dengan keluhan demam, menggigil, berkeringat, pucat, nyeri perut, mual, muntah (p >0,05). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antra densitas parasit dengan gejala klinis malaria vivaxen_US
dc.description.abstractBackground: Parasite density in patients with malaria is one of the agent and host factors that affect the severity of the disease. Malaria parasites can cause clinical symptoms, including fever accompanied by chills, sweating, and can be accompanied by headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and muscle aches or aches. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parasite density at the asexual stage and clinical symptoms in Plasmodium vivax malaria. Methods: This study used a cross sectional analytical design. The number of research samples was 43 subjects taken consecutively in Kualuh Leidong, Labuhan Batu Utara Regency from November to December 2020. The research variables consisted of parasite density and clinical symptoms of vivax malaria. Data analysis were done by Chi Square, Fischer‟s Exact, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal Wallis tests. Results: The characteristics of the most research subjects were women (60.5%) with an age range of 11-18 years (74.4%), and Batak ethnic groups (58.1%), with average body weight 37.86±14.20 kg, temperature 39.25°C±1.08°C, hemoglobin 10.69±1,49 g/dL and median of asexual parasites was 200 (80-2000) parasites. All subjects complained of fever (100%). Symptoms of nausea (72%), vomiting (79,06%), chills (27%), headache (58%) and abdominal pain (30%). There was no significant association between asexual parasite density and complaints of fever, chills, sweating, pallor, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting (p> 0.05). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between parasite density and clinical symptoms of vivax malaria.en_US
