Peran Ruang Terbuka Hijau terhadap Pelestarian Lingkungan di Wilayah Kota Medan

Abstract

Medan City is designated to be a Metropolitan Area facilitated with Green Open Space in order to support the environmental reservation. The existing plants in the green open space, generating good impact to the quality of environment, by adsorbing CO2 and the availability of O2 necessary for respiration of human being. Adequate open area will generate a better environmental cycle condition. Methods applied in this research is surverying method through on the spot measurement and interviewing some concerns sources as the research instrument. This research is conducted in the District of Medan Johor and the District of Medan Kota. The research found that the availability of open green space area in Medan are still inadequate, while insfficient number of plants to adsorb C02 and less 02 yielded from the available plants should be overcome by planting more plants in the area of Medan City.
