Peranan PDAM Tirtanadi dalam Pengelolaan Limbah Cair Domestik kota Medan

Abstract

The increasing number of population in Medan will influence to city influental on enviromental condition. To support the function of the city, it is need to develop facilities and equipment. One of the facilities is disposal water treatment. The institution which responsible to do is PDAM Tirtanadi, the aim of PDAM is to improve the environmental of quality of the city through domestic waste treatment before it flow to the river. The aim of this research is to evaluate the role of PDAM Tirtanadi as Managing Institution of domestic effluent against peoples as costumer of effluent, and under service of effluent network in Medan, the correlation among operational parameter has a very significant effect on the role of PDAM Tirtanadi to manage the domestic effluent. This study is conducted in five domestic effluent service regions belonging to PDAM Tirtanadi, in whisch respondents as object in this research in this all five locations will effect the evaluation of role in domestic effluent management of Medan city. This research found that, in management of domestic effluent PDAM Tirtanadi plays suuficient role particularly in factors effecting yhe environment. Where as for demographical, factor education is determinant for the role to become a costumer of effluent. The result of this research attemps to improve the domestic effluent service for a better knowledge of community. In this case, socialization will be conducted for commubity to introduce the method of domestic effluent treatment effectively. Factors of health and environment are very dominant factors for peoples to be costumer of effluent. The correlation is the improvement of service quality so that peoples to be costumer of effluent.
