Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Produksi Cokelat di Kabupaten Dairi

Abstract

The aims of research to find out the factors which influence on the chocolate production in Dairi Regency. By using several production theory, therefore, the variable observed in this research are the width of area, working hour, the using of fertilizer, the using of pesticide and the age chocolate of plants. This research employ the primary data which obtained from farmers through direct interview by using quesionaires list prepared. The farmers taken randomly (simple random sampling). There are 95 persons from 11 sub districts. They are all chocolate producers.The amount of factors that affects the production level of chocolate analyzed with multiple regression with production function of Cobb Douglas with OLS (Ordinary Least Square) method test. The result shows that the value of variable of the width of area positively and influence on the chocolate production significant at ? 10%, the variable of working hour and the variable of the age of plants positively influence at ?1%, the variable of pesticide positively influence and significant at ? 5% the and the variable of fertilizer positively influence but not significant to the production of chocolate in Dairi Regency. The elasticity of the with of area, working time, the using of fertilizer, the using of pesticide and the age of plants have the elasticity less than 1 (not inelastic).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi cokelat di Kabupaten Dairi. Dengan menggunakan beberapa teori produksi, maka variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah luas lahan, waktu kerja, penggunaan pupuk , penggunaan pestisida dan umur tanaman cokelat. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer diperoleh dari petani melalui wawancara langsung dengan menggunakan daftar pertanyaan yang telah dipersiapkan terlebih dahulu. Petani responden ditentukan secara acak sederhana (Simple Random Sampling) sebanyak 95 orang dari sebelas kecamatan sampel, semuanya adalah petani cokelat yang mana kesebelas kecamatan tersebut merupakan penghasil produksi cokelat di Kabupaten Dairi. Besarnya faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat produksi cokelat dianalisis dengan analisis regresi berganda dengan model fungsi produksi Cobb-Douglas dengan metode OLS (Ordinary Least Square) Hasil penelitian menununjukkan bahwa nilai variabel luas lahan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan pada ? 10%, variabel waktu kerja dan variabel umur tanaman berpengaruh positif dan signifikan pada ? 1%, variabel pestisida berpengaruh positif dan signifikan pada ? 5% dan variabel pupuk berpengaruh positif tapi tidak signifikan terhadap produksi cokelat di Kabupaten Dairi. Elastisitas luas lahan, waktu kerja, penggunaan pupuk, penggunaan pestisida dan umur tanaman mempunyai nilai elastisitas di bawah 1, sehingga digolongkan bersifat tidak elastis (in elastis).
