    Modifikasi dan Penggunaan Pemlastis Turunan Asam Oleat dari Asam Lemak Sawit Destilat (ALSD) Pada Matriks Polivinil Klorida

    Abstract
    Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) can be modified to oleic acid derivative compounds resulted in 98.7% of methyl oleate (MO), 83.77% of methyl epoxy stearate (MES) and 73.75% of methyl acetoxy stearate (MAS). Blending of PVC-MO gives compatibility at 10%, 27.3 MPa of tensile strength and 56.17% of elongation. Blending of PVC-MES gives the best compatibility at 30%, 23.1 MPa of tensile strength and 92.14% of elongation. Blending of PVC-MAS gives the best compatibility at 20%, 21.2 MPa of tensile strength and 65.82% of elongation. Meanwhile, blending of PVC-DOP at 30% gives 24.6 MPa of tensile strength and 86.3% of elongation. FT-IR spectra show that C=O group gives better contribution for plasticizer-PVC chain interaction effectiveness than C-O-C or C=C group does. MO has 62.8% of binding level in PVC, MES has 96.45% and MAS has 85.80%. On the other hand DOP has 75.48% of binding level in PVC. DTA analysis shows that the addition of plasticizers increases the glass transition temperature (Tg). It means that binding occurred between plasticizer molecules and PVC chain. According to above analysis results, it is concluded that MES is better than MO or MAS and is comparable to DOP in respect to the compatibility degree achievement, mechanical properties, binding level in PVC and glass transition temperature (Tg).
     
    Asam Lemak Sawit Destilat (ALSD) dapat dimodifikasi menjadi senyawa-senyawa turunan asam oleat berupa metil oleat (MO) dengan hasil sebanyak 98,7%, metal epoksi stearat (MES) sebanyak 83,77% dan metil asetoksi stearat (MAS) sebanyak 73,75%. Campuran PVC-MO kompatibel pada kadar 10% memberikan kekuatan tarik sebesar 27,3 MPa dan kemuluran 56,17%. Campuran PVC-MES kompatibel sampai kadar 30% memberikan kekuatan tarik sebesar 23,1 MPa dan kemuluran 92,14%. Campuran PVC-MAS kompatibel sampai kadar 20% memberikan kekuatan tarik sebesar 21,2 MPa dan kemuluran 65,82%. Sedangkan campuran PVC-DOP pada kadar 30% memberikan kekuatan tarik sebesar 24,6 MPa dan kemuluran sebesar 86,3%. Spektra FT-IR menunjukkan bahwa gugus C=O memberikan sumbangan lebih baik bagi efektifitas interaksi senyawa pemlastis dengan rantai PVC dibanding gugus C-O-C atau C=C alken. Pengikatan MO dalam PVC mencapai 62,8%, MES mencapai 96,45% dan MAS mencapai 85,80% sedangkan DOP mencapai 75,48%. Analisis menggunakan DTA menunjukkan bahwa penambahan pemlastis meningkatkan suhu transisi gelas (Tg) yang berarti bahwa terjadi ikatan antara molekul pemlastis dan rantai PVC. Berdasarkan hasil analisis di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa MES lebih baik dibanding MO atau MAS, dan dapat menyamai DOP dalam hal pencapaian tingkat kompatibilitas, sifat mekanis, tingkat pengikatan dalam PVC dan peningkatan suhu transisi gelas (Tg).
