Abstract

ABSTRACT DEBORA EVLYN SEMBIRING, 2011. The Analysis of the Factors Influencing Potato Export (Solanum Tuberosum L0 in Karo District under The Supervision of Dr. Ir. Satia Negara Lubis, M.Ec. (Chair) and Ir. Yusak Maryunianta, M.Si (Member) Potato production in Karo District was fluctuating and tended to decrease during the past years. Meanwhile the import demand is increasing especially from Singapore and Malaysia. For these reasons, a research needs to be done to know the factors influencing the potato export. This research is aimed to analyze the influence of potato production, domestic potato price, international potato price, selling cost, the potato sonsumption in Indonesia, BDP (Bruto Domestic Product) variables on the potato export from Karo District in the period of 1995-2010. This studi applied multiple linear regression analysis using DPDD 15.0. The result of this analysis showed that the variables significantly influencing the potato export in Karo District were the potato production in Karo District, international potato price, and the potato consumption in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the variables of domestic potato price, selling cost, the potato consumption in main importing countries, BDP had no significant influence on the potato export in Karo District. ABSTRAK DEBORA EVLYN SEMBIRING, 2011. Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Ekspor Kentang (Solanum tuberosum L ) di Kabupaten Karo (Di bawah bimbingan Dr. Ir. Satia Negara Lubis, M.Ec sebagai ketua dan Ir. Yusak Maryunianta, M. Si sebagai anggota). Produksi kentang di Kabupaten Karo mengalami fluktuasi yang cenderung menurun selama lima tahun terakhir, sementara permintaan impor mengalami peningkatan khususnya dari Singapura dan Malaysia. Penelitian ini bertujuan adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh variabel produksi kentang di Kabupaten Karo, harga domestik kentang, harga internasional kentang, nilai tukar, konsumsi kentang pengimpor utama Malaysia, konsumsi kentang di Indonesia, PDB (Produk Domestik Bruto) terhadap ekspor kentang dari Kabupaten Karo periode 1995-2010 dengan menggunakan metode analisis regresi (linier berganda) melalui Program SPSS 15.0. Hasil analisis menunjukkan variabel yang berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap variabel ekspor kentang di Kabupaten Karo adalah produksi kentang di Kabupaten Karo, harga internasional kentang dan konsumsi kentang di Indonesia. Sedangkan variabel harga domestik kentang, nilai tukar, konsumsi kentang di negara pengimpor utama dan Produk Domestik Kentang (PDB) tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap ekspor kentang di Kabupaten Karo.
