Abstract

ABSTRACT The Analysis of the Inventory Control System of Probabilistic Models with Back Order at Indah Traso Company Medan. Supervised by Prof. Dr. Ir. A. Rahim Matondang, MSIE.and Ir. Rosnani Ginting, MT. The problem which is usually faced by an industrial company is the problem of inventory management; for example, in the inappropriate procurement of goods by the company. The stock out of goods when there is a demand from consumer will cause the company to miss an opportunity to gain profit or to loss its customers since they switch to another company. The type of the research was a case study in which the study was conducted deeply on a certain object. The method of the research was by conducting interviews and documentary study. The variables were Service Levelas the dependent variable and Inventory Level, and Order Quantity, and Safety Stock, and Demand as the Independent variable. The aim of the research was to find and optimal solution for the company in the inventory control. The research used probabilistic model with back order. The result of the calculation by using probabilistic model with back order showed that the company was able to save on inventory costs around 16% compared with the calculation done with the company’s model. Besides that, the company would be able to increase its service level form 4.69% until 13.83%. This showed that the optimal solution for Indah Traso Company, Medan, was by using probabilistic inventory control model with back order. Keywords: Probabilistic Inventory, Back Order, Service Level

ABSTRAK Analisis Sistem Pengendalian Persediaan Model Probabilistik dengan Back Order pada Perusahaan Indah Traso Medan.Dibimbing oleh Bapak Prof. Dr. Ir. A. Rahim Matondang, MSIE.dan Ir. Rosnani Ginting, MT. Masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh perusahaan industri adalah masalah manajemen persediaan, misalnya dalam hal pengadaan bahan yang kurang tepat oleh perusahaan yang bersangkutan. Terjadinyakekurangan persediaan bahan (stock out) saat adanya permintaan dari konsumen menyebabkan perusahaan menjadi kehilangan kesempatan untuk mendapatkan profit atau kehilangan pelanggan karena beralih ke perusahaan yang lain. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi kasus dimana penelitian dilakukan secara mendalam terhadap objek yang diteliti.Metode penelitian adalah dengan wawancara dan dokumentasi.Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah Pengendalian Produksi sebagai variabel terikat dan Service Level, Permintaan dan Tingkat Persediaan sebagai variabel bebas.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari solusi optimal bagi perusahaan dalam hal pengendalian persediaan, adapun model yang digunakan adalah model probabilistik dengan back order. Hasil perhitungan menggunakan model probabilistik dengan back order menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan mampu menghemat biaya persediaan rata-rata sebesar 16% dibanding dengan perhitungan yang dilakukan dengan model perusahaan.Selain itu perusahaan mampu meningkatkan service level antara 4,69% sampai 13,83%. Ini berarti menunjukkan bahwa solusi optimal bagi Perusahaan Indah Traso Medan adalah menggunakan model pengendalian persediaan probabilistik dengan back order.
