    Pengaruh Ekstrak Nenas (Ananas Sativus) Sebagai Koagulan terhadap Kualitas Lembaran Karet

    Abstract
    Pineapple (Ananas sativus) extract kept for 1 day (N-5), 3 days (N-4), 5 days (N-3), 7 days (N-2), and 9 days (N-1) as coagulant of natural rubber have been carried out. Coagulation rate of each coagulant has been tested and they have been compared to formic acid. The impurity, ash, nitrogen, and organic volatile content, as well as retention plasticity index and Mooney viscosity of the rubber sheets produced have been analysed follow the Standard Indonesia Rubber (SIR). Those results were compared to the coagulated rubber sheet by using formic acid as coagulant. Coagulation rate and the best quality obtained when N-1 extract as coagulant and the final product is equal to SIR-20.
     
    Penggunanaan ekstrak nenas (Ananas Sativus) yang disimpan selama 1 hari (N-5), 3 hari (N-4), 5 hari (N-3), 7 hari (N-2), dan 9 hari (N-1), sebagai penggumpal karet alam telah diteliti. Kecepatan koagulasi masing-masing ekstrak nenas telah diuji dan dibandingkan dengan koagulan asam formit. Kadar kotoran, kadar abu, kadar nitrogen, kandungan zat mudah menguap, plastisasi retensi indeks (PRI) dan viskositas Mooney, dari seluruh koagulum yang menggunakan koagulan diatas, telah dianalisa sesuai dengan uji baku karet Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini telah dibandingkan dengan gumpalan karet yang menggunakan asam formiat. Kecepatan koagulasi, dan kualitas terbaik diperoleh saat menggunakan ekstrak nenas N-1 sebagai koagulan dan hasil akhir produk ini adalah setara dengan SIR-20.
