dc.description.abstract | Background:Inflamation is a factor that relate to insulin resistance cause induce
type 2 diabetes. Hs-CRP is a quantitative CRP that used as a marker for
inflammation. Puguntano one of the traditional plant that found in North Sumatera
had been recognize for the anti – diabetic effect. This study tried to assess the
effect of Puguntano as a traditional plant in North Sumatera on inflammation in
type 2 Diabetic Mellitus patient.
Aim:To determine the effect of Puguntano treatment on hs-CRP in Type 2
Diabetes Mellitus patient.
Methods: This was a randomized open clinical trial held in 12 weeks in 24
patients (12 patients and 12 controls)Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus that divide into 2
groups , this two groups were given Puguntano and Metformin for 12 weeks. Hs-
CRP and Hba1c were determined at baseline and in the end of 12 weeks.
Result: In group Puguntano the mean decreased of hs-CRP was 1.41(± 2.28)
(p=0.06). There is no difference for the mean decreased of hs-CRP between both
group Puguntano vs Metformin, 1.41 (±2.28) vs-2.48 (±10.64) (p=0.630).
Conclusion: There is a decrease mean of hs-CRP level with Puguntano treatment
intype 2 Diabetes Mellitus patient but it was not significant statistically. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Latar Belakang:Inflamasi merupakan salah satu faktor yang berkaitan dengan
resistensi insulin yang menyebabkan DM Tipe 2. Hs-CRP merupakan pengukuran
konsentrasi CRP secara kuantitatif yang dapat digunakan untuk melihat adanya
inflamasi.Puguntano suatu tanaman budidaya yang terdapat di Sumatra utara
diketahui memiliki efek antidiabetes. Studi ini mencoba menilai pengaruh
Puguntano sebagai tanaman budidaya di Sumatera Utara terhadap inflamasi pada
pasien Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2.
Tujuan Penelitian:Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak Puguntano
terhadap kadar hs-CRP pada penderita DM tipe 2
Metode:Dilakukan uji klinis terbuka, dengan desain paralel selama 12 minggu
pada24 pasien(12 pasien dan 12 kontrol) Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2yang dibagi
dalam 2 grup masing - masing diberikan puguntano dan metformin selama 12
minggu. Hs-CRPdan HbA1c diperiksa pada awal dan diakhir pengobatan minggu
ke 12.
Hasil:Didapatkan rerata penurunan hs-CRP pada grup puguntano 1.41(± 2.28)
(p=0.06). Tidak didapatkan perbedaan rerata penurunan hs-CRPantara kedua
grup puguntano vs metformin 1.41 (±2.28) vs-2.48 (±10.64) (p=0.630).
Kesimpulan:Didapatkan penurunan nilai hs-CRPdengan pemberian puguntano
pada penderita Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2, namun hasiltersebut tidak signifikan
