    Analisis Pengaruh Penambahan Mullite 3Al203.2SiO2 dan Variasi Suhu Sintering terhadap Karakteristik Keramik Al2O3 dengan Simulasi Program Matlab

    Abstract
    Research about influent of Alumina has been done for making of alumina. Ceramic alumina is as refractory for high temprature up to 1600oC. Alumina doped mullite was varied from 0%,10%, 15%, 20%, 25% of total weight. The sampels test after sintering were characterized such as : density, porousity, hardness, and coefficient of thermal expansion and analysis used simulation of Computer programming language with Matlab version 7.0.1. According to the result measurement, show that : the best samples are samples with additives 20% and 25% mullite and sintering temperature 1600oC. These sampels have properties such as : density value are 3,619 - 3,674 gram/cm3, porousity are 0,343 - 0,372 %, bending strength 328,31- 333,97 MPa , Hardness Vickers 1520 - 1547 kgf/mm2 and coefficient of thermal expansion 5,7 - 6,8 x 10-6 oC .
     
    Telah dilakukan penelitian pengaruh penambahan mullite 3Al2O3.2SiO2 untuk pembuatan keramik alumina. Keramik alumina digunakan sebagai bahan refraktori yang tahan dipakai pada suhu tinggi hingga suhu 1600oC. Bahan baku keramik alumina yang ditambah dengan aditif mullite 3Al2O3.2SiO2 dengan variasi : 0%, 10%, 15%, 20% dan 25% dari berat total bahan serta variabel suhu sintering 1200oC, 1250oC, 1300oC, 1350oC, 1400oC, 1450oC, 1500oC, 1550oC, 1600oC, 1650oC. Benda uji yang telah disintering selanjudnya di uji dan di analisa , meliputi pengujian densitas, porositas, kekerasan dan kuat patah dan penganalisaan dilakukan dengan menggunakan simulasi komputer memakai bahasa pemrograman Matlab versi 7.01. Dari hasil analisa dapat dilihat bahwa penambahan aditif mullite 20% dan 25% dan disintering pada suhu 1600oC menghasilkan sampel keramik alumina dengan karakteristik yang paling baik yaitu nilai densitas 3,619 - 3,674 gram/cm3 , porositas 0,343% - 0,372%, kekerasanVickers 1520 - 1547 kgf/mm2 , kuat patah 328,31- 333,97 MPa dan nilai koefisien termal ekspansi 5,7 - 6,8 x 10-6 oC .
