    Pengaruh Aditif Lateks dan Komposisi terhadap Karakteristik Beton dengan Menggunakan Limbah Padat (Sludge) Industri Kertas

    Abstract
    The making of structural light weight concrete of structural material has been done using various raw materials based on: sludge, sand, cement, and latex resin. The variation compositions of sludge were: 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 % (in % volume) with the addition of latex resin: 5, 10, and 15 % (in % volume), while the ageing time is made in constant time at 28 days. The dimension sample tests were made in two kind bodies that are rigid cylinder and beam. The test parameter cover: density, water absorption, shrinkage, thermal conductivity, compressive strength, flexural strength, tensile strength, and microstructure analysis by using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) method. From the result indicate that the light weight concrete with the composition at variation of 25 % volume sludge and 10 % volume latex, with ageing time at 28 days is the best result (optimum condition). From the best compositions, the concrete have the following material properties, such as: density = 2.01 g/cm3, water absorption = 21.90 %, shrinkage = 0.10 %, thermal conductivity = 0.34 w/moK, compressive strength = 16.53 MPa, flexural strength = 3.60 MPa, and tensile strength = 2.99 MPa. The microstructure analysis by SEM indicates that the pores inside the concrete are not homogen with particle size about 2 - 20 ?m. Also the sludge fiber size can reach length until 10 ?m, and for other constituents such as sand and latex resin can reach 30 ?m.
     
    Telah dilakukan pembuatan beton untuk material konstruksi ringan struktural dengan bahan baku berbasis: sludge, pasir, semen, dan resin lateks. Variasi komposisi sludge antara lain: 0, 25, 50, 75, dan 100 % (dalam % volume) serta penambahan resin lateks: 5, 10, dan 15 % (dalam % volume), sedangkan waktu pengeringan dibuat tetap yaitu selama 28 hari. Dimensi sampel uji yang dibuat dalam dua bentuk, yaitu silinder rigid dan balok. Parameter pengujian yang dilakukan, meliputi: densitas, penyerapan air, penyusutan, konduktivitas termal, kuat tekan, kuat patah, kuat tarik, dan analisa mikrostruktur dengan Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Dari hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa beton ringan dengan variasi komposisi terbaik adalah 25 % (volume) sludge dan 10 % (volume) lateks dengan waktu pengeringan selama 28 hari. Pada komposisi tersebut, beton yang dihasilkan memiliki karakteristik material, sebagai berikut: densitas = 2,01 g/cm3, penyerapan air = 21,9 %, penyusutan = 0,102 %, konduktivitas termal = 0,34 w/moK, kuat tekan = 16,53 MPa, kuat patah = 3,60 MPa, dan kuat tarik = 2,99 MPa. Hasil analisa struktur mikro dengan SEM menunjukkan bahwa rongga-ronga (pori) di dalam beton terdistribusi tidak merata dengan ukuran sekitar 2 - 20 ?m. Ukuran serat sludge bisa mencapai panjang 10 ?m, gumpalan pasir dan resin lateks bisa mencapai berkisar 30 ?m.
