Karakteristik Penderita Keratitis Infektif di Rs H. Adam Malik Medan Tahun 2010-2011

Abstract

Introduction: Infectious keratitis is one of the diseases that are common in almost all countries and a problem that causes high morbidity and lowers patient’s quality of life. The prevalence of infectious keratitis in tropical countries, including Indonesia, is quite high. Aim: To investigate the characteristics of infectious keratitis patients in H. Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan in 2010-2011 period. Methods: This is a descriptive study with a case series design. Population of this research is the data of 78 patients’ eyes with diagnosis of infectious keratitis (bacterial, fungal, or viral). Data were obtained from patients’ medical records at Adam Malik Hospital. Results: The proportion of patients with infectious keratitis is highest at the 28–35 year-old group with occurrence of 29,5%, 18-year-old group 93,6%, with the proportion of male 61,5% and female 38,5%, farmer profession 26,9%, Conclusion: H Adam Malik Hospital needs to raise public awareness about infectious keratitis through public seminars and warn the highest risk groups about this disease. bacterial keratitis 51,3%, and medical therapy 97,4%. Pendahuluan: Keratitis infektif merupakan salah satu penyakit mata yang sering dijumpai di Negara tropis dan menjadi masalah yang menyebabkan morbiditas dan biaya kesehatan yang cukup tinggi. Prevalensi keratitis infektif di negara tropis cukup tinggi. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengetahui karakteristik penderita keratitis infektif RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan tahun 2010-2011. Metode: Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan desain case series, populasi penelitian adalah penderita keratitis infektif sebanyak 78 kasus dan besar sampel adalah seluruh kasus tersebut. Hasil Penelitian: Proporsi penderita keratitis infektif tertinggi pada kelompok umur 28–35 tahun 29,5%, umur di atas 18 tahun 93,6%, dengan proporsi laki-laki 61,5% dan perempuan 38,5%, pekerjaan petani 26,9%, keratitis bakterial 51,3%,, medikamentosa 97,4%. Uji statistik chisquare tidak dapat dilakukan karena terdapat dua sel dengan nilai di bawah lima. Kesimpulan: Bagi pihak RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan agar perlu dilakukan penyuluhan dan pemahaman terhadap pasien tentang keratitis infektif dan. Kata Kunci: Keratitis infektif, Karakteristik Penderita, RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan
