    Abstract
A study on pasture planted in the shade and different cutting intervals need to do. Effect of shading differences and cutting interval on yield and quality of pasture. Planting forage research has been done in Tanjung Anom, Pancurbatu, Deli serdang distric, North Sumatera Provinsi, Medan. Proximate analysis carried out in the Laboratory of Materials forage Feed Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. Experimental research split split plot design, with treatment the main plot is the shade (without shade, shade with paranet 0.2 mm, shade with paranet 1.7 mm), the subplot cutting interval (4,6 weeks) and sub subplot is pasture : P0 = Arachis glabarata + Calopogonium mucunoides + Centrocema pubescens; P1 = Brachiaria humidicola + Stenotaphrum secundatum + Arachis glabarata + Pueraria javanica; P2 = Stenotaphrum secundatum + Brachiaria humidicola + Pueraria javanica + Calopogonium mucunoides; P3 = Stenotaphrum secundatum + Brachiaria humidicola + Pueraria javanica + Centrocema pubescens). The result of the research showed, that biomassa and dry weight of pasture have significant effect on the cutting interval of six weeks (54747.75 kg/ha/year dan 13259.2 kg/ha/year). Shades and cutting interval showed not significant of persentace Botanical composition in pasture mixing but the species Centrosema pubescens significant in shades treatment and Pueraria javanica significant in cutting interval. The higher crude protein of pasture is treatment without shade (15:20%) and at intervals of 4 weeks cutting (15, 23%), while the highest crude fiber obtained in shade with paranet 1.7 mm (38.16%) and at 6 weeks cutting interval (38.27%). Crude fat pasture not significant among all treatments and the higher carrying capacity is pasture composition (Brachiaria humidicola, Stenotaphrum secundatum, Pueraria javanica dan Calopogonium muconoides).
