Formulasi dan Evaluasi Sediaan Gel Hair Tonic Tahan Air dari Ekstrak dan Fraksi Buah Kurma (Phoenix dactylifera L.)

Abstract

Hair Tonic is a cosmetic preparation that is a mixture of chemicals or other ingredients used to strengthen and improve hair growth. The addition of dimethicone aimed to prevent the gel from being swept easily by water. The content of date palm for hair growth is vitamin B which can increased the activity of hair follicle cell growth and can stimulated thechanges in the hair cycle from the telogen phase to the anagen phase. Date palm is macerated with 80% ethanol. Then the extract is concentrated with a waterbath until dried. The concentrations used in the preparation of waterproof Hair tonic gel are 5, 7.5, 10 and 12.5% divided into 3 groups, named ethanol extract, n-Hexan fraction, Ethyl acetate fractionation and then compared with Hair Tonic from the market. The evaluation of gel preparations is an examination of homogeneity, pH, viscosity, irritation, and stability. The animal that used is male white rat. The back of the mice were shaved off (4x4) cm and then marked (2x2) cm for the smearing area and tested. The growth test activity of white rat hair by measuring hair length and weighing hair. The result of microbial contamination on the ethanol extract of date palm meet the SNI Hair tonic requirements, namely the total plate count 105 and for yeast mold figures 103, the results obtained for total plate count 6 X 10-5 cfu / g and yeast mold rates 2 X 10-5 cfu / g. Evaluasi sediaan gel adalah pemeriksaan homogenitas, pH, viskositas, iritasi, dan stabilitas. Hewan yang digunakan adalah tikus putih jantan. Punggung tikus dicukur bulunya (4x4) cm kemudian diberi tanda (2x2) cm untuk area pengolesan dan diuji. Uji aktivitas pertumbuhan rambut tikus putih dengan cara pengukuran panjang rambut dan penimbangan bobot rambut. Hasil uji sediaan gel hair tonic tahan air cemaran mikroba pada ekstrak etanol buah kurma memenuhi persyaratan SNI Hair tonic yaitu angka lempeng total angka lempeng total 105 dan untuk angka kapang/khamir 103, hasil yang didapat untuk angka kapang/khamir 6 X 10-5 cfu/g dan angka kapang khamir angka kapang/khamir 2 X 10-5 cfu/g.
