Pengaruh Subsektor Perkebunan terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Sektor Pertanian Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This research aim to analysis the influence of plantation sub-sector on economic growth in North Sumatera by using secondary data from 1981 to 2010 taken from Statistics Center Bureau (BPS) North Sumatera and the other various sources. The method of research used path analysis with endogenous variables are the value of production plantation commodity, the plantation area, the exchange rate, and the investments in plantation sub-sector, the intervening variable is the exports of plantation commodity and the exogenous variables is economic growth in North Sumatra which proxied by GRDP of agricultural sector. The results show that the value of production plantation commodity, the plantation area in t-4, the exchange rate, the exports of plantation commodity and the investments in plantation sub-sector in t-4 have significant influence on economic growth in North Sumatera. The value of plantation commodity exports just affected by the production plantation commodity.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalis pengaruh subsektor perkebunan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi Sumatera Utara, dengan menggunakan data sekunder dari tahun 1981 – 2010 yang berasal dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Sumatera Utara dan berbagai sumber lainnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis path dengan variabel endogen adalah nilai produksi komoditi perkebunan, luas lahan perkebunan, kurs, dan investasi pada subsektor perkebunan, variabel intervening yaitu nilai ekspor komoditi perkebunan dan variabel eksogen adalah pertumbuhan ekonomi Sumatera Utara yang diproksi dengan nilai PDRB sektor pertanian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai produksi perkebunan, luas lahan perkebunan pada t-4, kurs, nilai ekspor komoditi perkebunan dan investasi pada t-4 memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi Sumatera Utara. Adapun nilai ekspor perkebunan hanya dipengaruhi oleh nilai produksi perkebunan.
