dc.description.abstractThe water qualities is very important for nursery of tiger grouper fries (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) because its affect on the fries survival rate. Probiotic is known as a natural product that could be used to improve the water qualities. The objectives of the research are to analyze the effect of probiotic on performances of tiger grouper fries, ammonia and nitrite concentration in water, and to determine optimal dose of probiotic to gain the highly survival rate of the fish. The research was carried out in twelve units of brachkishwater ponds by using completely randomized experiment method with four treatments of probiotics (0, 1, 2, 3 mg/L) and three replications. The initial length of fries was 3 to 4 inch with fries density of 8.000 fishes/pond. The measurement of water quality parameters (temperature, pH, DO, salinity) was done every day, while the ammonia and nitrite concentration measured one time a week, and total amount of bacteria before and after treatment measured one time using Total Plate Count method. Based on the variance analysis showed that probiotic doses in ponds water showed to have higly significant effect (P<0.01) on increasing fish performances i.e. length by 10 cm and weight by 110 g, survival rate, and reducing of ammonia and nitrite concentration in water. Least Significant Difference Test showed 3 mg/L probiotics gave relatively more reducing ammonia and nitrite was 0,32 mg/L and 0,22 mg/L, survival rate by 81,5 %,.en_US
dc.description.abstractKondisi kualitas air sangat penting bagi pemeliharaan gelondongan ikan kerapu macan (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) karena berpengaruh pada kelulusan hidup. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dosis probiotik terbaik dalam menurunkan kadar ammonia dan nitrit serta mampu meningkatkan kelulusan hidup, pertambahan panjang-berat mutlak ikan kerapu macan. Dua belas unit tambak masing-masing ukuran luasnya 5.000 m2 dipilih secara acak untuk wadah uji perbedaan dosis probiotik, yaitu 1 mg/L, 2 mg/L, 3 mg/L dan kontrol yang diberikan seminggu sekali ke dalam air tambak selama penelitian. Tambak tersebut ditebari gelondongan ikan kerapu macan ukuran 3-4 inci dengan padat tebar 8.000 ekor/tambak. Analisis ammonia dan nitrit air tambak diukur seminggu sekali. Pengukuran jumlah bakteri dilakukan dengan metode Total Plate Count sebelum pemberian probiotik dan sesudah pemberian probiotik. Pengukuran suhu, derajat keasaman (pH), salinitas serta oksigen terlarut air tambak dilakukan setiap hari. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisis variansi pola rancangan acak lengkap non faktorial dan dilanjutkan uji beda nyata terkecil apabila terdapat perbedaan yang berarti diantara perlakuan yang diuji. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa pemberian probiotik dengan dosis berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata (P < 0,01) dalam menurunkan kadar ammonia dan nitrit serta mampu meningkatkan kelulusan hidup gelondongan ikan kerapu macan. Berdasarkan uji BNT, dosis probiotik 3 mg/L merupakan perlakuan terbaik dalam menurunkan kadar ammonia dan nitrit yaitu 0,32 mg/L dan 0,22 mg/L, sehingga ikan dapat hidup 81,5 %, pertambahan panjang-berat mutlak ikan yaitu 10 cm dan 110 g.en_US
