Perubahan Indeks Tinggi Wajah pada Perawatan Ortodonti Maloklusi Klas I dengan Pencabutan Empat Gigi Premolar Pertama

Abstract

Introduction: The aim of the research was to know the change of facial height index in malocclusion Class I of orthodontic treatment by extracting four of the first premolars. Method: Quasi experimental with one group pre and post design. The samples comprised 13 patients (from 18 to 35 years old). The data were analyzed statistically by using an SPSS program. Paired t test sample was used to know the change of facial height index and correlation test was used to know the correlation between the change of facial height index and Frankfort mandibular angle. Result: There was a change of facial height index in malocclusion Class I of orthodontic treatment by extracting four of the first premolars although it was not significant (p>0.05). There was negative correlation between the change of Frankfort mandibular angle and the change of facial height index which occurred in malocclusion Class I of orthodontic treatment by extracting four of the first premolars (r = -0.893). Conclusion: Statistically, it was found that the change of facial height index was not significant in malocclusion Class I of orthodontic treatment by extracting four of the first premolars. There was also negative correlation between the change of Frankfort mandibular angle and the change of facial height index; that is, in each lowering of Frankfort mandibular angle, facial height index will increase.

Pendahuluan : Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perubahan indeks tinggi wajah pada perawatan ortodonti maloklusi Klas I dengan pencabutan empat gigi premolar pertama. Metode : Eksperimental kuasi dengan desain one group pre dan post. Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah13 pasien (usia 18-35 tahun). Data dianalisa secara statistik menggunakan program SPSS. Paired t test sample untuk mengetahui perubahan indeks tinggi wajah, korelasi untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perubahan indeks tinggi wajah dengan sudut Frankfort mandibula. Hasil : Ada perubahan indeks tinggi wajah pada perawatan ortodonti maloklusi Klas I dengan pencabutan empat gigi premolar pertama tetapi perubahan tersebut tidak signifikan (p>0,05), ada hubungan negatif antara perubahan sudut Frankfort mandibula dengan perubahan indeks tinggi wajah yang terjadi pada perawatan ortodonti maloklusi Klas I dengan pencabutan empat gigi premolar pertama (r =-0,893). Kesimpulan : Secara statistik diperoleh perubahan indeks tinggi wajah yang tidak signifikan pada perawatan ortodonti maloklusi Klas I dengan pencabutan empat gigi premolar pertama, dan hubungan yang negatif antara perubahan sudut Frankfort mandibular dengan perubahan indeks tinggi wajah, yaitu setiap penurunan sudut Frankfort mandibula akan meningkatkan indeks tinggi wajah.
