dc.description.abstractGelatin contains protein can be used as raw material of film that environmentally friendly. This research has been done film of gelatin with addition of formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde. The film of gelatin were evaluated by physical and mechanical properties. Test characteristics was made by analysis of Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectroscopy (FTIR), tensile strength test, swelling, and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The results of this study indicate that the addition of formaldehyd and glutaraldehyde effect on the physical and mechanical characteristics of edible film. Tensile strength and elongation were higher using glutaraldehyde than formaldehyde, but percentage of thinkness and swelling using glutaraldehyde were smaller than formaldehyde. Testing of surface morphology by SEM showed that surface of the film with the addition of glutaraldehyde and formaldehyda were not flat.en_US
dc.description.abstractGelatin mengandung protein dimanfaatkan sebagai film yang ramah lingkungan. Dalam penelitian ini telah dilakukan pembuatan film gelatin dengan penambahan formaldehida dan glutaraldehida. Film gelatin yang diperoleh kemudian diuji sifat fisik dan sifat mekaniknya. Uji karakteristik yang dilakukan yaitu dengan analisis Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectroscopy (FTIR), uji keteguhan tarik, uji serapan air, dan Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gelatin dengan penambahan formaldehida dan glutaraldehida berpengaruh terhadap karakteristik fisik dan mekanik film gelatin. Film gelatin dengan penambahan larutan glutaraldehida menunjukkan persentase nilai pada sifat keteguhan tarik dan kemuluran lebih besar tetapi persen ketebalan dan daya serap air lebih kecil jika dibandingkan dengan formaldehida. Pengujian morfologi permukaan dengan SEM menunjukkan pada permukaan film dengan penambahan glutaraldehida dan formaldehida tidak rata.en_US
