Penerapan North West Corner Method dan Stepping Stone Method pada Optimasi Biaya Distribusi Ikan di PT. Kasahi Sibolga

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan khusus dalam linier programming adalah masalah transportasi. Untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan ini digunakan metode transportasi. Metode transportasi adalah metode yang paling efisien dibandingkan dengan metode simpleks. Permasalahan yang dapat diselesaikan dengan metode transportasi adalah mengalokasikan barang atau jasa dari suatu tempat (supply) ke tempat lainnya (demand) secara optimal. PT. Kasahi Sibolga adalah Sebuah perusahaan ikan yang mendistribusikan ikan ke beberapa daerah di Indonesia. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode transportasi untuk memecahkan permasalahan transportasi ini yaitu untuk solusi awal menggunakan North West Corner Method dan untuk uji optimalitas menggunakan Stepping Stone Method. Prinsip kerja North West Corner Method ialah pemberian prioritas pengalokasian dari pojok kiri atas matriks transportasi. Stepping Stone Method merupakan langkah lanjutan dari North West Corner Method untuk mendapatkan solusi optimal yaitu total biaya terendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan dan mengoptimalkan North West Corner Method dan Stepping Stone Method pada perhitungan biaya transportasi ikan di PT. Kasahi Sibolga dari 3 sumber ke 6 lokasi tujuan. Hasil penelitian dan perhitungan diperoleh bahwa dengan North West Corner Method dan Stepping Stone Method, PT. Kasahi Sibolga dapat meminimumkan biaya distribusi ikan dengan selisih lebih kecil sebesar 1,19% daripada biaya yang dikeluarkan oleh PT. Kasahi Sibolga.

One of the special problems in linear programming is transportation problems. To solve this problem, the transportation method is used. The transportation method is the most efficient method compared to the simplex method. The problem that can be solved by the transportation method is allocating goods or services from one place (supply) to another (demand) optimally. PT. Kasahi Sibolga is a fish company that distributes fish to several regions in Indonesia. In this study, the transportation method is used to solve this transportation problem, namely for the initial solution using the North West Corner Method and for optimality testing using the Stepping Stone Method. The working principle of the North West Corner Method is to give priority to allocations from the top left corner of the transportation matrix. The Stepping Stone Method is a further step from the North West Corner Method to get the optimal solution, which is the lowest total cost. This study aims to implement and optimize the North West Corner Method and the Stepping Stone Method in calculating fish transportation costs at PT. Kasahi Sibolga from 3 sources to 6 destination locations. The results of research and calculations obtained that with the North West Corner Method and the Stepping Stone Method, PT. Kasahi Sibolga can minimize fish distribution costs by a smaller difference of 1.19% than the costs incurred by PT. Kasahi Sibolga.
