dc.description.abstractIntroduction: The high mortality of malignant ovarian tumors caused by a lack of early screening that is useful for predicting malignancy. Recently, it comes out the idea of using metastasis suppressor gene, KiSS1, as a marker. However, the study still showed controversial results, varies with different phenotypes and genotypes of the study population. In Indonesia, there is no research that conducted to differ KiSS1 expression between malignant and benign epithelial ovarian tumors. Objective: To determine difference of KiSS1 expression in malignant oand benign epithelial ovarian tumors. Methods: This study is an analytical study in 25 blocks paraffin tissue of malignant and benign ovarian tumors. Expression KiSS1 done by histochemical examination based on Allred score. Statistical analysis was performed by independent t test in SPSS 17 (limit of significance p <O.Q5). Results: Majority of patients with malignant and benign epithelial ovarian tumors aged> 40 years and multiparous. Majority of patients with malignant epithelial ovarian tumors showed negative expression of KiSS1 (60%) but higher mean score (1.68 ± 1.49 vs 0.76 ± 1.05). There is significant difference between KiSS1 expression either by classification or mean Allred score between malignant and benign epithelial ovarian tumor (p=0.002and p=0.016). Conciusion: There is significant difference between KiSS1 expression between malignant and benign epithelial ovarian tumor. Malignant ovarian tumors tend to exhibit negative KiSS1 expression but on the positive samples, mean Allred scores were high.en_US
dc.description.abstractPendahuluan: Tingginya mortalitas tumor ganas ovarium disebabkan karena kurangnya pemeriksaan dini yang berguna untuk memprediksi malignansi. Dalam hal ini, muncul ide penggunaan penanda gen supresor metastasis, yaitu KiSSL Namun, penelitian masih menunjukkan hasil yang kontroversial, bervariasi dengan perbedaan fenotipe dan genotipe populasi penelitian. Di Indonesia, belum ada penelitian yang membedakan KiSS1 yang membedakantumor ganas dan jinak ovarium. Tujuan: Untuk menilai perbedaan ekspresi KiSS1 pada tumor ganas ovarium tipe epitel dan tumor jinak ovarium tipe epitel. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan desain case control yang dilakukan pada masing-masing 25 blok parafin jaringan tumor ganas dan jinak ovarium di RSUP HAM. Ekspresi KiSS1 dilakukan dengan pemeriksaan histokimia berlandaskan kiasifikasi dan total skor All red. Analisis statistik dilakukan dengan uji t independen pada program SPSS 17 (batas kemaknaan p<0,05). Hasil: Mayoritas pasien tumor ganas dan jinak ovarium tipe epitel berusia >40 tahun dan multipara.Mayoritas pasien tumor ganas ovarium menunjukkan ekspresi KiSS1 negatif (60%) dan rerata total skor yang lebih tinggi (1,68±1,49 vs 0,76+1,05).Ada perbedaan ekspresi KiSS1 yang bermakna antara tumor ganas dan jinak ovarium tipe epitel baik berdasarkan kiasifikasi (p=0,002) maupun rerata skor Ailred (p=0,016) Kesimpulan: Ada perbedaan ekspresi KiSS1 yang bermakna antara tumor ganas dan jinak ovarium tipe epitel. Tumor ganas ovarium cenderung menunjukkan ekspresi KiSS1 yang negatif tetapi pada sampel yang positif, ditemukan rerata skor Ailred yang tinggi.en_US
