dc.description.abstract | Telah dilakukan studi pemanfaatan tanah diatomea aktif untuk menyerap senyawa Nitrogen yang terkandung di dalam air Danau Toba. Contoh air diambil secara acak dari pantai sekitar Hotel Toba Beach, Desa Pangambatan Kecamatan Simanindo Kabupaten Samosir. Tanah diatomea diambil dari desa Tanda Rbun Kecamatan Simanindo dan diaktifkan dengan HCl 1%. pH dan DO daripada contoh air diukur di lapangan sedangkan kandungan N-NH4, N-NO2 dan N-NO3 ditentukan secara spektofotometri di laboratorium. Contoh air dilewatkan melalui tanah diatomea aktif dan filtratnya ditampung untuk penentuan pH, DO, N-NH4, N-NO2 dan N-NO3. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan adanya penurunan pH dari 9,20 menjadi 6,93. Kenaikan DO dari 4,5555 mg/l menjadi 4,9746 mg/l, penurunan N-NH4 dari 0,5267 menjadi 0,0577 mg/l, penurunan N-NO2 dari 0,0377 menjadi 0,0050 mg/l dan penurunan N-NO3 dari 2,2155 mg/l menjadi 1,3174 mg/l. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tanah diatomea yang diaktifkan dengan HCl 1% dapat digunakan sebagai adsorben di dalam pengolahan air terutama untuk menurunkan kandungan senyawa Nitrogen. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | A study on the use of activated diatomae as the adsorbent for nitrogen compounds in the water of Toba Lake has been carried out. The water sample was taken randomly from the beach around of Toba Beach Hotel, Pangambatan, Kecamatan Simanindo Kabupaten Samosir. Diatomea was taken from the village of Tanda Rabun Kecamatan Simanindo was activated by using the solution of 1% HCl. The pH and DO of the water were measured in situ whereas the N-NH4, N-NO2 and N-NO3 contents were determined spectofotometrically in the laboratory. The water sample was passing through the diatomea column and the filtrat obtained was collected for determination of pH, DO, N-NH4, N-NO2 and N-NO3 contents. The result obtained showed the decrease of pH valued from pH 9,20 to pH 6,93, the increase DO value from 4,5855 to 4,9746 mg/l, the decrease of N-NH4 from 0,5267 to 0,0577 mg/l, the decrease of N-NO2 from 0,0377 to 0,0550 mg/l, and the decrease NNO3 from 2,2155 to 1,3174 mg/l. It can be concluded that the diatomea activated with 1% HCl solution can be used as an adsorbent in the water treatment especially for decreasing the nitrogen compound contents. | en_US |
