dc.description.abstractThe compound, 1, 9-diglyseril nonanediamine, has been synthesised by amination of ?-monochlorohydrin with 1, 9-nonanediamine in 63 % yield. The a-monochlorohydrin was obtained from chlorination of glycerol with HCl, and 1, 9-nonanediamine was obtained from amidation of azelic acid with urea followed by reduction with hydrazine-NaOH with 74 % yield. Each step of reaction was characterised by FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The compound of 1, 9-diglyseril nonanediamine is a surfactant in wlo dispersion and has an HLB value of 4,38.en_US
