    Preparasi dan Karakterisasi Nano-Komposit Polipropilena-Organobentonit Alam Bener Meriah Dengan Menggunakan Maleat Anhidrida dan Divinyl Benzena Sebagai Kompatibilizer

    Abstract
    This study used samples of bentonite originated from Desa Negeri Antara Kecamatan Pintu Rime Gayo Kabupaten Bener Meriah. They were formed in suspension and given ultrasonic waves then sedimented in 7 days. They were made in 185,6 nm Keywords: nanocomposite polypropylene-bentonite, compatibilizer, heat resistance dimension then modificated by adding CTAB surfactant. The compounding process of nanocomposited polypropylene-modified bentonite was started by modificating of natural polymers combined with natural bentonite polar. The addition of compatibilizer was important to be done in order to polypropylene stayed in the composited structure, in this case the compatibilizers were Polypropilene-grafting- Maleic Anhidride (PP-g-MA), Diviniyl Benzene (DVB), and Maleic Anhidride-Benzoyl Peroxide (MA-BPO). Composited materials were made by mixing PP composition and substance compatibilizer in fixed amounts, but the weight fractions of nanoorganobentonit varied 0 : 2 : 5, and 7%. The aim of this research is for studying the effects of the addition organobentonit of natural bentonite and varied compatibilized substances to the thermal properties of PP composites. The results of FTIR showed that homogeneous mixing occurred between the organobentonit and polypropylene. The results of composited test which used DTA tool showed that the addition of 6% organobentonit and 1% compatibilizer Maleic Anhidride-Benzoyl Peroxide (MA-BPO) created the most optimal heat resistance than the other weight varities of organobentonit.
     
    Peneltian ini menggunakan sampel bentonit berasal dari Desa Negeri Antara Kecamatan Pintu Rime Gayo Kabupaten Bener Meriah. Sampel dibuat dalam bentuk suspensi selanjutnya diberi gelombang ultrasonik dan disedimentasi selama 7 hari. Sampel dibuat dalam ukuran 185,6 nm untuk kemudian dimodifikasi dengan penambahan surfaktan CTAB. Proses penyatuan nanokomposit polipropilena-bentonit diawali dengan modifikasi bentonit alam polimer polar dapat disatukan dengan bentonit alam. Penambahan pengkompatibel agar polipropilena dapat tetap berada dalam struktur komposit perlu dilakukan, dalam hal ini menggunakan beberapa pengkompatibel seperti Polypropilene-grafting-Maleic Anhidride (PP-g-MA), Diviniyl Benzene (DVB), dan Maleic Anhidride-Benzoil Peroksida (MA-BPO). Bahan komposit dibuat dengan komposisi PP dan zat pengkompatibel berjumlah tetap, namun fraksi berat nanoorganobentonit bervariasi 0; 2; 5; dan 7%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh penambahan organobentonit dari bentonit alam dan zat pengkompatibel yang bervariasi terhadap sifat termal dari komposit PP. Hasil FTIR menunjukkan terjadi pencampuran yang homogen antara organobentonit dengan polipropilena. Hasil uji komposit menggunakan alat DTA memperlihatkan bahwa penambahan jumlah organobentonit dengan fraksi berat 6% dan 1% pengkompatibel Maleic Anhidride – Benzoil Peroksida (MA-BPO) menaikkan ketahanan terhadap panas yang paling optimal.
