Pengaruh Pertumbuhan Ekonomi, Investasi, Upah Minimum Provinsi dan Krisis Ekonomi terhadap Kesempatan Kerja di Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of economic growth, investment, the Provincial Minimum Wage and economic crisis on employment in North Sumatera. This study focused on the problem of employment opportunities in the province of North Sumatra during the period of 1980 to 2007. With the independent variable of economic growth, investment, the Provincial Minimum Wage and the economic crisis while the dependent variable on employment opportunities in North Sumatera. The model used in this research is econometric model using Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The study indicate that the model used in estimating the factors that affect employment opportunities are good, because the model free of violations of classical assumptions, as well as variations in the ability of explanatory variables in explaining the relatively high employment. With R 2 = 0,895 level of significance that the independent variables PDRB, investment, the Provincial Minimum Wage and the economic crisis can explain variations in employment amounted to 89,5 percent and the rest at 10,5 percent explained by another variable. Simultaneously all independent variables in influencing the dependent variable (dependent variable) is very clear. From these estimates together PDRB, investment, the Provincial Minimum Wage and the economic crisis can affect employment opportunities in Sumatera Utara. The partial results obtained estimates conclusion can be seen that there is significant influence of all independent variables are PDRB, investment, the Provincial Minimum Wage and the economic crisis. The significant influence of each independent variable to reflect any changes in employment opportunities always come from the change in PDRB, investment, the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), and economic crisis.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pertumbuhan ekonomi, investasi, Upah Minimum Provinsi (UMP) dan krisis ekonomi terhadap kesempatan kerja di Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini memfokuskan masalah kesempatan kerja di Provinsi Sumatera Utara selama kurun waktu 1980 2007. Dengan variabel bebas yaitu pertumbuhan ekonomi, investasi, Upah Minimum Provinsi (UMP) dan krisis ekonomi sedangkan variabel terikatnya mengenai kesempatan kerja di Sumatera Utara. Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model ekonometrika dengan metode Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model yang digunakan dalam mengestimasi faktor yang mempengaruhi kesempatan kerja sudah baik, karena model terbebas dari pelanggaran asumsi klasik, juga karena variasi kemampuan variabelvariabel penjelas dalam menjelaskan kesempatan kerja tergolong tinggi. Dengan tingkat R2 = 0,895 yang bermakna bahwa variabel independen PDRB, investasi, UMP, krisis ekonomi mampu menjelaskan variasi kesempatan kerja sebesar 89,5 persen dan sisanya sebesar 10,5 persen. Secara serempak seluruh variabel bebas dalam mempengaruhi variabel terikat (dependent variable) sangat jelas. Dari estimasi tersebut secara bersama-sama PDRB, investasi, UMP, krisis ekonomi dapat mempengaruhi kesempatan kerja di Sumatera Utara. Secara parsial hasil estimasi diperoleh kesimpulan dapat diketahui bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan seluruh variabel bebas yaitu PDRB, Investasi, UMP dan krisis ekonomi. Signifikannya pengaruh setiap variabel bebas mencerminkan setiap perubahan kesempatan kerja selalu berasal dari perubahan PDRB, investasi, UMP dan krisis ekonomi.
