dc.description.abstractAcetalitation of monolactoyl glycerol with stearaldehyde gave 2-heptadecyl-4-(methylene-2-hidroxy propanoyl)- 1,3-dioxolane with a yield of 82 %. Monolactoyl glycerol was prepared from sodium lactate and a-monochlorohidrin with 60% yield, and stearaldehyde was prepared by oxidation of stearyl alcohol (49%). The product of each reaction was confirmed by FT-IR and ‘H-NMR spectroscopies. The hydrophilicity of monolactoyl glycerol and 2-heptadecyl-4-(methylene-2-hidroxy propanoyl)- 1,3-dioxolane were determined by Du-Nouy tensiometer. The value of Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC) and HLB of monolactoyl glycerol and 2-heptadecyl-4-(methylene-2-hidroxy propanoyl)-1,3-dioxolane were 0.07% ; 4.38 and 0.0009% ; 2.82 respectively.en_US
dc.description.abstractAsetalisasi monolaktoil gliserol dengan stearaldehida menghasilkan 2-heptadekil-4-(metilen-2-hidroksi propanoil)-1,3-dioksolan dengan rendemen sebesar 82%. Senyawa monolaktoil gliserol dibuat dari reaksi natrium laktat dengan u-monoklorohidrin dengan rendemen sebesar 60%, dan stearaldehida dibuat dengan oksidasi stearil alkohol dengan rendemen sebesar 49%. Produk yang dihasilkan pada setiap tahap reaksi dikonfirmasikan dengan spektroskopi FT-IR dan ‘H-NMR. Kehidrofilikan monolaktoil gliserol dan 2-heptadekil-4-(metilen-2-hidroksi propanoil)-1,3-dioksolan diuji dengan tensiometer Du-Nouy. Harga Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC) dan HLB dari monolaktoil gliserol dan 2-heptadekil-4-(metilen-2-hidroksi propanoil)1,3- dioksolan adalah 0,07% ; 4,38 dan 0,0009% ; 2,82.en_US
