Sintesis N-9,10 Dihidroksi Stearil Kitosan Melalui Reaksi antara Kitosan dengan Oleil Klorida yang Diikuti Reaksi Epoksidasi

It has been conducted a synthetic of N-9,10 – dihydroxydes of stearile chitosan by a reaction between chitosan with oleoyl chloride is obtained oleoyl chitosan followed by epoxidation reaction, where oleoyl chloride is obtained from the result of oleic acid chlorination with PCl5. According to FT-IR analysis with N-9,10 dihydroxydes of sterile chitosan generate an absorption of 902.69 cm-1 and showed the absorption of (C-0H), and adding its vibration peak intensity on wave number > 3400 cm-1. Following epoxidated through hydrolyzed showed additional OH group, vibration peak wave number 1712 cm-1 indicated C=O group and wave number 725 cm-1 indicated existing bound of (CH2)n where n ≥ 4 in stearyl chain.
The result of determining value of Hydrophilic Lipophilic Balance (HLB) by a titration method in determining its acid number and by saponification number is obtained 12.8 show that N-9,10 dihydroxydes of stearile chitosan is as the emulsion substance with a dispersion system of O/W. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan sintesis N-9,10 – dihidroksi stearil kitosan melalui reaksi antara gugus amin dari kitosan dengan oleil klorida menghasilkan oleil kitosan yang selanjutnya diikuti reaksi epoksidasi, dimana oleil klorida diperoleh dari hasil klorinasi asam oleat dengan PCl5. Hasil analisis FT-IR senyawa N-9,10 – dihidroksi stearil kitosan memberikan puncak serapan 902,69 cm-1 dan 1404, 18 cm-1 yang menunjukkan serapan gugus (C-OH), dan bertambahnya intensitas puncak vibrasi pada daerah bilangan gelombang > 3400 cm-1. Setelah diepoksidasi diikuti hidrolisa menyatakan bertambahnya gugus -OH, puncak vibrasi pada daerah bilangan gelombang 1712 cm-1 menyatakan gugus C=O dan pada daerah bilangan gelombang 725 cm-1 menunjukkan adanya ikatan (CH2)n dimana n ≥ 4 pada rantai stearil.
Hasil penentuan nilai Hydrophilic Lipophilic Balance (HLB) melalui metode titrasi melalui penentuan bilangan asam dan bilangan penyabunan diperoleh 12,8 yang menunjukkan bahwa senyawa N-9,10 dihidroksi stearil kitosan merupakan zat pengemulsi dengan sistem dispersi O/W.
