dc.description.abstract | A surfactant 3,4 dilauroyl-Dcsorbitol has been synthesized from D-Sorbitol and lauric acid in a series of reactions, i.e. ketalization, esterification and deketalization. ketalization of D-sorbitol an action in an azeotrc pic petroleum benzene solvent using p-tolueue sulfonif acid as a catalyst gave 1,2 . 5,6-di-Oisopropylidene- D-sorbitol. The product was selectively esterificaied with lauric acid using dimetylamino pyridine and dicyclocarboxyldiimida as catalyst, followed by deketalization with 1 N hydrochloric acid in methanol to produce 3,4 dilauroyl-Dssorbitol. Each step of reaction was characterized by FT-IR and 1H-NMR, GC-MS spectra and especially for the dioxolane compound, its 13C-NMR spectrum was also recorded, The compound, 3,4-dilauroyl-D-sorbitol produced, was a surfactant with HLB value was 3,089. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Surfaktan 3,4 dilauroil-D-sorbitol disintesis dari D-sorbitol dan asam laurat melalui satu seri reaksi yakni ketalisasi, esterifikasi dan deketalisasi. Ketalisasi dari D-sorbitol di dalam pelarut azeobtrop petroleum-benzen menggunakan katalis asam p-toluena sulfonat menghasilkan 1,2 : 5,6 di-O-isopronpiliden-Dvsorbitol. Hasil ketalisasi ini diesterifikasi secara selektif dengan asam laurat memakai katalis dimetil amino piridin dan disiklo karboksil diimida, kemudian dilakukan deketalisasi dengan larutan asam klorida 1 N didalam metanol menghasilkan 3,4 dilauroil-D-sorbitol. Setiap tahap reaksi dikarakterisasi dengan spektra FT-IR, 1H-NMR, GCMS dan khusus untuk senyawa dioksolan yang terbentuk, juga dikarakterisasi dengan spektrum 13C-NMR. Senyawa 3,4-dilauroil-D-sorbitol yang diperoleh merupakan suatu surfaktan dengan nilai HLB 3,089. | en_US |
