| dc.description.abstract | This thesis investigates the siciolinguistic field which tells the types,funtions,and the meaning of uphemism. Research method use to prepare the data is talk method.The presentation of the data to identify and clasify the types of euphemism uses distributional method (metode agih). To analyze the function and the meaning uses padan method (metode padan). Data resources use(a) written data, namely (1) tradisioanal poetry in custome ceremony, (2) Item of Malay Custome of North Sumatera society, (b) oral data namely interview by using 15 informen. Method of representing the data uses informal represetative methode. The result of the research identifies and classifies euphemism in to BMS namely (a) figurative expressions, (b) methapore, (c) one for one substitution, (d) general for specific, (e) hyperbole, (t) Colloquial The function of euphemism (1) greeting, (2) avoiding taboo, (3) expressing ways, (4) expredding situation. The meaning of euphemism namely (1) speaker's meaning, (2) speech contaxt, (3) speech purpose, (4) speech as a act form or activity, (5) speech as verbal act product . | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Tesis ini merupakan kajian di bidang Sosiolinguistik yang membicarakan tipe-tipe, fungsi, dan makna eufemisme. Metode penelitian yang digunakan metode untuk penyediaan data yakni metode cakap. Untuk mengidentifikasikan dan mengelompokkan tipe-tipe eufimisme digunakan metode agih. Untuk menganalisis fungsi dan makna digunakan metode padan Sumber data menggunakan (a) data tulis; (I) Pantun dalam Upacara Adat Perkawinan (2) Butir-butir Adat Budaya Melayu Pesisir Sumatera Timur, (3) Bahasa Tutur dalam Upacara Adat Masyarakat Melayu Sumatera Utara, (b) Data Lisan yakni wawancara dengan menggunakan 15 informan. Metode penyajian data menggunakan metode penyajian informal. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi dan mengelompokkan eufemisme dalam BMS yakni (a) ekspresi figuratif, (b) metafor, (c) satu kata untuk menggantikan kata lain (d) umum ke khusus,(e) hiperbol,(t) kolokial. Fungsi eufemisme : (1) sapaan, (2) menghindari tabu, 3) menyatakan cara, (4) menyatakan situasi. Makna dalam eufemisme yakni: (1) makna penutur, (2) konteks tuturan, (3) tujuan tuturan,(4) tuturan sebagai bentuk tindakan atau aktivitas (5) tuturan sebagai produk tindak verbal. | en_US |
