Background and Objectives : Curretage is one of the obstetric and gynaecologist procedure is usually done. This short procedure need anesthetic technic which can produce adequate analgesic and sedation besides short recovery. The design of this study is randomized prospective double blind clinical trial. The main purpose of this research is to know which combination that more effective for used in curettage with total intravenous anesthesia. Method : After getting approval from the FK USU ethical’s committee, forty six ASA 1 patients underwent elective curettage. All patients were divided into 2 groups. Group Fentanyl 1 mcg/kg/iv giving 5 minutes before induction propofol 2 mg/kg (PF) versus ketamin 0,5 mg/kg/iv giving 3 minutes before induction propofol 2 mg/kg (PK). The primary outcome was pain, rated using CBNPS technique. Secondary outcomes included the hemodynamic profile, include rate of breathing and pulse oxymetry, propofol doses required to achieve and maintain sedation, times needed to open eye spontaneous and well oriented of place, and also side effects of the interventions. Data were analyzed with chi-square test and Mann-Whitney Test, whether p < 0.05 is significant. Result : Patient in both did not differ in significantly in demographic and hymodinamic profile. CBNPS score in the 5th Result : Both of the group is good for using as agent that effective for produce analgesic. Thus, the fentanyl group is more superior regard the side effect. minutes procedure is significant in PK group is lower than PF group. The mean systole arterial pressure, mean diastolic arterial pressure, and heart rate is lower in PF group than PK group. Times to recovery that characterized by open eye spontaneous and well oriented place is insignificant statistically. Side effect that happen is higher in PK group and PF groupen_US
