This research was conducted at the forestry area of Aek Nauli regency of Simalungun on January of 2011. The location of research is chosen by using purposive sampling method. The data was collected by combination of path method and grid line method. In five observation paths with plots in size of 20 m x 20 m for three and 10 m x 10 m for pole. The results of research on lower part secondary forest indicates where 58 threes included into 27 families with 1493 Individual/ha. The type of poles are 32 threes included into 16 families for 186 Individual/ha. The upper part of secondary forest consist of 43 species in 22 families in 435 Individual/Ha. The kinds of pole are 24 threes included into 16 families for 104 Individual/Ha. The primary forest consisted of 21 species in 9 families with the number of individual are 415/Ha. The type of pole are 16 threes include into 10 families for 91 Individual/Ha. The number of carbon reserve in lower part of secondary forest are 181.85 Ton/Ha The number of carbon reserve in upper part of secondary forest are 183.65 Ton/Ha. The number of carbon reserve in primary forest are 217.86 Ton/Ha Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kawasan Hutan Aek Nauli Kabupaten Simalungun bulan Januari 2011. Lokasi penelitian ditentukan dengan menggunakan. Metode Purposive Sampling. Pengambilan data digunakan metode kombinasi antara metode jalur dan metode Garis Berpetak. Pada lima jalur pengamatan dengan plot-plot 20 m x 20 m, untuk pohon serta 10 m x 10 m untuk pole. Hasil penelitian pada hutan sekunder bawah menemukan 58 jenis tiang yang termasuk dalam 27 famili dengan jumlah individu sebanyak 1493 Individu/Ha. Jenis pohon 32 yang termasuk dalam 16 famili sebanyak 186 Individu/Ha. Hutan sekunder atas menemukan 43 jenis tiang yang termasuk dalam 22 famili dengan jumlah individu sebanyak 435 Individu/Ha. Jenis pohon 24 yang termasuk dalam 14 famili sebanyak 51 Individu/Ha.Hutan primer menemukan 21 jenis tiang yang termasuk dalam 9 famili dengan jumlah individu sebanyak 415 Individu/Ha. Jenis pohon 16 yang termasuk dalam 10 famili sebanyak 91 Individu/Ha. Jumlah cadangan karbon pada hutan sekunder bawah adalah sebesar 181,85 Ton/Ha. Jumlah cadangan karbon pada hutan sekunder atas adalah sebesar 183,65 Ton/Ha Jumlah cadangan karbon pada hutan primer adalah sebesar 217,86 Ton/Ha.
