Affixes Found in The Living & Leisure Magazine

Abstract

This paper is entitled Affixes Found In The Living And Leisure Magazine which writer discusses about the English affixes, namely are prefixes and suffixes. The method use in this paper are library and descriptive. The theory used in this paper is Katamba (1993). It is found out there are 11 prefixes and 24 suffixes. The prefixes are re-, in-, en-, a-, ex-, un-, im-, ad-, dis-, inter-, il- and suffixes -ed, -s/-es, -ly, -ing, -er, -tion, -ment, -able, -y, -ness, -al, -en, -ful, -ic, -est, -ity, -ism, -an, -ant, -ous, -fully, -ish, -ive, -less. The dominant affixes are suffixes.

Kertas karya ini berjudul Affixes Found In The Living And Leisure Magazine yang membahas tentang afiks, yaitu prefiks dan sufiks. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode perpustakaan dan deskriptif. Teori yang digunakan ialah Katamba (1993). Hasilnya didapat 11 prefiks dan 24 sufiks. Kesebelas prefiks tersebut ialah re-, in-, en-, a-, ex-, un-, im-, ad-, dis-, inter-, il- dan 24 sufiks, yaitu -ed, -s/-es, -ly, -ing, -er, -tion, -ment, -able, -y, -ness, -al, -en, -ful, -ic, -est, -ity, -ism, -an, -ant, -ous, -fully, -ish, -ive, -less. Afiks yang paling dominan adalah sufiks.
