    Abstract
The construction of Rusunwa (rented high-rises) was initially intended to reduce slum areas, but the fact was that they became new slum areas. Scabies can spread through direct and indirect contacts. Filthy environment and unclean and unhealthy behavior can increase the risk for being transmitted by scabies in Rusunwa. The objective of the research was to analyze the influence of home physical components, environmental sanitation, and the residents’ behavior on the incidence of scabies at Rusunwa, Medan. The research was an observational analytic survey with case control design. The population was all residents of the Rusunwa Wisma Labuhan and Amplas. The samples were 100 respondents that were divided into 50 respondents in case group and the other 50 respondents in the control group. The data were analyzed by using chi square test and multivatriate analysis with logistic regression analysis. The result of the research showed that the variables which were correlated with the incidence of scabies were lighting, density of the family members, moisture, and hygienic behavior. The variable of moisture had the most dominant influence on the incidence of scabies at Exp (β) = 8.682. It is suggested to the residents to obey the rules in rusunawa, the management of Rusunwa increase the supervision on the residents and for housing and settlement Department enhancing physical rusunawa building and collaboration with the Department of Health to improve personal hygiene occupants.
