Hubungan Determinan yang Memengaruhi Perilaku Pekerja Las Karbit dalam Penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (Apd) untuk Mencegah Trauma Mata di Kecamatan Medan Kota Pemerintahan Kota Medan Tahun 2013

Abstract

In order to cope with blindness, the Ministry of Health has developed the strategies which are stipulated in Kepmenkes RI No. 1473/MENKES/SK/2005 on the National Strategic Planning for Handling Eye Trauma and Blindness (Renstranas PGPK) to achieve Vision 2000. Some people work at specific jobs, such as welding employees without personal protection devices, can be affected by lens turbidity. The same is true to a person who is frequently exposed to infrared light and to ultra-violet sunlight without any protection device; he will potentially concave at his eye-lens. The objective of the research was to analyze the correlation between the determinants which influenced the welding workers’ behavior in using personal protection device and (APD) in Medan Kota Subdistrict, Medan. The data were gathered by distributing questionnaires and analyzed statistically by using chi square test and multiple logistic regression tests at α – 5%. The result of the research showed that there was the correlation between the use of goggles and knowledge (p=0.000), while some factors which did not have any correlation with the use of goggles were attitude (p=0.928), the availability oof goggles (p=0.574), and the behavior of the owners of welding shops (p=0.201). It is recommended that 1) the owners of the welding shops should give the sanction imposed on their employees who do not wear goggles in order that they will be avoided from work accident, especially from trauma in eyes, and 2) the management of hiperkes should monitor and provide counseling about the use of personal protection device.

Untuk menanggulangi kebutaan, Kemenkes telah mengembangkan strategi-strategi yang dituangkan dalam Kepmenkes RI, nomor 1473/MENKES/SK/2005 tentang Rencana Strategi Nasional Penanggulangan Gangguan Penglihatan dan Kebutaan (Renstranas PGPK) untuk mencapai Vision 2020. Beberapa pekerjaan tertentu, misalnya pekerja las tanpa memakai alat pelindung diri, dapat mengakibatkan kekeruhan pada lensa. Demikian pula sesorang yang sering terpajan sinar infra merah maupun sinar ultra violet matahari, karena terpajan sinar matahari tanpa alat pelindung, berpotensi menimbulkan kekeruhan pada lensa mata. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan determinan yang mempengaruhi perilaku pekerja las dalam penggunaan alat pelindung diri terhadap (APD) di Kecamatan Medan Kota Pemerintahan Kota Medan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji chi square dan uji Regresi Logistik berganda pada α =5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan faktor yang ada hubungan bermakna dengan penggunaan kaca mata pelindung adalah pengetahuan (p=0,0001) dan perilaku pemilik bengkel las (p=0,0001), sedangkan faktor yang tidak ada hubungan bermakna dengan penggunaan kaca mata pelindung adalah sikap (p=0,928) dan tersedianya kaca mata pelindung (p=0,574). Disarankan kepada pihak pemilik bengkel las : (1) harus menyediakan kaca mata pelindung dan memberikan penjelasan kepada pekerja tentang pentingnya penggunaan kaca mata pelindung guna untuk mencegah trauma pada mata. (2) harus melakukan pemantauan, memberikan peringatan dan memberikan sanksi kepada pekerja yang tidak menggunakan kaca mata pelindung pada saat bekerja agar pekerja terhindar dari kecelakaan kerja khususnya trauma pada mata.
