    Optimasi Pemurnian Asam Oleat dengan Distilasi

    Abstract
    On commercial scale standard quality of distilled Oleic Acid (DOA) could not be produced directly by distillation process without blending lauric acid (C12) and miristic acid (C14). Production yield was only 84.0 % and feed capacity was only 4.0 mt/hr with Cl6 composition 11.2 % in Crude Oleic Acid feed. Palmitic acid (C16) composition in Crude Oleic Acid, top temperature precut and bottom temperature main distiller column were optimized to produce standard quality of DOA. A factorial design with 3 independent variables (3 X 2 X 3) also Statistical Process Control (SPC) was applied. to study and observe the effects and the trend of changing oleic acid (C18-1) composition, acid and specification value, color, iodine value, titer and cloud point DOA The experiment was due at plant scale on PT. Flora Sawita Chemindo distillation plant's. 'The optimum C16 (palmitic acid) composition in the feed was found to be 5.20 % C16, top temperature of precut column was 195°C and bottom main distiller was 222 °C. The experiment resulted production yield DOA was 88.89 % with feed capacity of 6.0 mt/hr Crude Oleic Acid with CI6composition of 5.20 % in the feed. DOA quality was met the standard quality that was settled and met the stabilization criteria of Statistic Process Control (SPC).
     
    Pada distilasi asam oleat skala komersial, mutu Distilat Asam Oleat (DOA) yang sesuai standar belum dapat diproduksi secara langsung dari proses distilasi tanpa pencampuran asam laurat (C12) dan miristat (C14) . Yield produksi Distilat Asam Oleat hanya 84,0 % dengan kapasitas umpan 4,0 mt/jam dan kadar Cl6 umpan asam cleat kasar sebesar 11,2 %. Kadar C16 umpan asam oleat kasar (Crude Oleic Acid), suhu top precut dan suhn bottom main distiller dioptimasi untuk memproduksi DOA dengan mutu yang sesuai dengan standar mutu yang ditetapkan. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan metode Eksperimen Faktorial 3 x 2 x 3, model tetap dengan u1angan 2 kali serta Statistical Process Control (SPC) dalam mengamati kecenderungan perubahan kadar asam oleat (C18-1), bilangan asam, bilangan penyabunan, bilangan iodium, titer dan cloud point DOA. Distilasi dilakukan dengan skala pabrik pada fasilitas pabrik PT. Flora Sawita Chemindo. Kondisi optimum proses distilasi didapatkan pada kadar C16 umpan 5,2 %, suhu bagian atas kolom precut 195 0C dan soon bagian bawah kolom main distiller 222°C. Yield produksi DOAyang diperoleh 88,89 % dengan kapasitas umpan 6,0 mt/jam pada kadar CI6 umpan 5,20 %. Mutu DOA memenuhi standar mutu yang ditetapkan dan memenuhi kriteria kestabilan Statistic Process Control (SPC).
