| dc.description.abstract | Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease caused by a coronavirus that has the potential to cause death. The COVID-19 pandemic can easily trigger death anxiety. This study aims to find differences in the level of death anxiety related to COVID-19 between COVID-19 Patients, COVID-19 survivors, and people who have never been infected with COVID-19. Subjects are individuals aged 18 years and over who reside in the city of Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Respondents were 38 people who have never been infected with COVID-19, 38 COVID-19 survivors, and 38 COVID-19 Patients. Data was collected using Scale of Death Anxiety. Data analyzed with comparative method to compare death anxiety mean scores of three groups. Results showed that there were differences in the level of death anxiety related to COVID-19 experienced by COVID-19 Patients, COVID-19 Survivors, and people who had never been infected with COVID-19. Death anxiety score of the COVID-19 Patient group was significantly higher than the other two groups. Awareness about death anxiety is important, especially for COVID-19 Patients. Family, friends, health workers who treat COVID-19 patients, as well as the general community are expected to be more aware of the potential for increased death anxiety so that it can be prevented during the pandemic. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh coronavirus yang berpotensi menyebabkan kematian. Tekanan di masa pandemi COVID-19 dapat memicu death anxiety masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah ada perbedaan tingkat death anxiety terkait COVID-19 yang dialami oleh Pasien COVID-19, Penyintas COVID-19, dan masyarakat yang belum pernah terinfeksi COVID-19. Subjek adalah individu berumur 18 tahun ke atas yang bertempat tinggal di Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. Responden terdiri dari 38 orang anggota masyarakat yang belum pernah terinfeksi COVID-19, 38 orang Penyintas COVID-19, dan 38 orang Pasien COVID-19. Pengambilan data menggunakan Scale of Death Anxiety yang dimodifikasi untuk konteks COVID-19 dan diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Analisis data menggunakan metode komparatif untuk membandingkan rata-rata skor death anxiety dari ketiga kelompok subjek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan tingkat death anxiety terkait COVID-19 yang dialami oleh Pasien COVID-19, Penyintas COVID-19, dan anggota masyarakat yang belum pernah terinfeksi COVID-19. Pasien COVID-19 mengalami death anxiety yang secara signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dua kelompok lain. Keluarga, teman, dan tenaga kesehatan yang merawat Pasien COVID-19, serta masyarakat umum diharapkan dapat lebih awas pada potensi meningkatnya death anxiety agar dapat dicegah dan dikelola sejak dini untuk kesehatan mental selama masa pandemi COVID-19. | en_US |
