A Psycholinguistic Analysis on Speech Errors Made By Kamala Harris At The Debate Of The Candidates For Vice President Of America

Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul Analisis Psikolinguistik tentang Kesalahan Tutur Kamala Harris pada Debat Calon Wakil Presiden Amerika. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui jenis dan penyebab kesalahan tutur yang dilakukan oleh Kamala Harris pada acara Debat Calon Wakil Presiden Amerika. Desain penelitian ini adalah desain kualitatif. Data penelitian ini berupa kata, frasa, dan kalimat yang mengandung kesalahan tutur yang dilakukan oleh Kamala Harris pada acara Debat Calon Wakil Presiden Amerika. Data diambil melalui YouTube dari berbagai teks yang terkait dengan kesalahan tutur objek penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tahapan: mencari tahu dan menentukan, mengklasifikasikan dan memisahkan kata, frasa, dan kalimat yang mengandung kesalahan tutur yang dilakukan oleh Kamala Harris. Analisis data secara kualitatif menggunakan tahapan analisis Miles, Huberman dan Saldana: kondensasi, display dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis kesalahan tutur yang dilakukan oleh Kamala Harris pada Debat Calon Wakil Presiden Amerika berdasarkan teori Clark & Clark ditemukan: silent pause 25 kali, filled pause 27 kali, repeats 21 kali, retraced false starts 1 kali, unretraced false starts 1 kali, correction 2 kali, stutter 2 kali and interjection 2 kali. Tidak ada slip of the tongue. Penyebab kesalahan tutur yang dilakukan oleh Kamala Harris berdasarkan teori Clark & Clark adalah faktor sosial baik kecemasan situasional maupun keadaan sosial.

This thesis entitled A Psycholinguistic Analysis on Speech Errors Made by Kamala Harris at The Debate of The Candidates for Vice President of America. The purpose of this study is to find out the types and the causes of speech errors made by Kamala Harris at the Debate of the Candidates for Vice President of America. The design of this research was qualitative design. The data were in the form of words, phrases and sentences that contain speech errors made by Kamala Harris at the Debate of the Candidates for Vice President of America. The data taken by running a YouTube search of various text related to the speech errors of the study object. The data were collected through stages: finding out and determining, classifying and separating the words, phrases and sentences that contain speech errors made by Kamala Harris. Analysis of data qualitatively using the analysis phase of Miles, Huberman and Saldana: condensation, display and verification. The research result show the types of speech errors made by Kamala Harris at the Debate of the Candidates for Vice President of America based on Clark & Clark’s theory found are: silent pause 25 times, filled pause 27 times, repeats 21 times, retraced false starts 1 time, unretraced false starts 1 time, correction 2 times, stutter 2 times and interjection 2 times. There is no slip of the tongue. The causes of speech errors made by Kamala Harris based on Clark & Clark’s theory are social factors both situational anxiety and social circumstances.
